Ruler of Xenthia

The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. No one in the kingdom even seemed to notice or care. They had no idea what that meant. They had no idea what was to come. The fish were still in there. The river was still cool and refreshing. The kids still played in it. The fisherman still fished. The river wasn't the problem, at least not to them.

They weren't even concerned that the queen was missing. That was due to the fact that my beautiful bitch of a sister was now ruling over the kingdom. After my father died my mother decreed that her children would rule after her according to age and not gender. All part of their wonderful plan. See the people of Xenthia don't know the truth about their illustrious queen and neither does her daughter. They all will soon find out!

Rosalita a "wise woman" of Xenthia begins to shout in the courtyard of the castle.

"The evil shall return. The river can no longer protect us. We are doomed!"

Poor Rosalita. It's a pity that I have to kill her. All she had to do was be quiet. I know she's on touch with the spirits. I know she knows the truth. I know she's right. I can't have her telling the people. I can't have her especially telling my sister. That will ruin everything.

Auron orders the guards of the castle to sieze Rosalita and lock her in the dungeon. Then he proceeds to go visit her there.

"Hello Rosalita."

"Prince Auron, you must heed my warning. The river ruins backwards. That means your sister does not have the power. The evils will arrive and they will destroy the kingdom!"

"Rosalita I came down here to kill you. But in my soul I know that isn't the fair thing to do. You're only trying to save your kingdom, your family, your friends, strangers, hell even me. That's a very noble thing. I also have to take into consideration that you're right. The evils are coming. The river won't protect us and my poor sister has no idea. Now I'm going to offer you a bargain. I promise I will save the kingdom. I promise that I will be king. I assure you that everything will be ok. I will spare your life here this evening. All I ask of you is to keep what you know to yourself. If you utter one word of it the promise will change. Although your life will still be spared the lives of everyone you love I promise you will not!"

"I'm grateful for you in the sparing of my life. I would like to ask that you allow my family and I to leave the kingdom."

"I would like to ask that you not take my kindness as a weakness. Also do not think you know more than I do. I know that there is no leaving of the people of the kingdom. I know that there is no way out once the river has turned. So, your attempt to hide your family from me will not work. So, as I've said your life is saved because of your noble act of trying to save the kingdom. Now you must save your family."

"Ok, I will not utter a word of what I know. I just hope for the sake of the kingdom that you know what you are doing?"

"Oh Rosalita, I've been planning it my entire life."

With that Auron orders the guards to release Rosalita.

My father Allistar never loved Serena. Once his father had passed and his mother became to sickly to rule, he was set to become king. He wanted a queen to rule by his side but he had never found a woman worthy of his hand. He never found a woman worthy of his kingdom. That was until the evils arrived.

People of the kingdom became very violent. Murders, rapes, and various assaults were rapid across the kingdom. People became scared to leave their homes. Fisherman stopped fishing; farmers stopped farming. The kingdom started to deteriorate. That was when Serena showed up.

No one knew where she had come from, but she said she had the secret to saving the kingdom. All she wanted in return was to be queen. My father agreed and married Serena. That was the day the river turned. Serena was a woman of her word, and she saved the kingdom. How she did it was a secret that had never been told, or so she thought.

My father before he became ill told me the truth. He told me that his marriage to Serena was to save the kingdom. He also told me that my birth was to stop them in the future. See my sister Daniella was born first, and she was meant to be the only child. The sole heir to the throne. My father attempted many times once again to impregnate my mother. She withheld sex and did everything in her power to not become pregnant. My father became desperate. He had to have a son in order to stop them.

My father went to the outskirts of the kingdom to see the magic man. The magic man was exiled when the evils came because he was believed to be the cause of it. He practiced magic and witchcraft. The people were committing the violence were possessed and he was the only man that could do it. So, before my father knew the truth, he approached him. When the magic man denied everything, he was banished to the swampy outskirts. That was the good judgement of my father for I would have killed him. Nonetheless he was alive, and my father needed him.

My father got the magic man to put a spell on my mother. The spell was to make her sexually insatiable. That way she'd have relations with him and he would get her pregnant. He also asked the magic man if he could make sure that she produced a male child. The magic man in exchange for his return to the kingdom did as my father had asked. Thus here I am.

I grew up hated. Treated like the outcast instead of the prince. I was treated like a peasant rather than the king I was destined to be. I didn't want to be king! I didn't want to be in Xenthia at all. I expressed this to my father once I had become of age. I was leaving Xenthia never to return. That was when I was told the story of my existence. I was also told why.

See my mother Serena didn't save the kingdom from the evils. She was one of them. She was an evil spirit that wanted to rule over a kingdom. So she had her fellow evil followers possess the people of Xenthia. That was the cause of the violence. Once her goal of being queen was accomplished she called the evils off. Then she reversed the river as a sign for them not to return. It also insured that the only way out of the kingdom would lead straight to them.

He also informed me that my mother had one of the evils possess him. He was strong enough to resist the things that the evil was trying to force him to do. He however wasn't strong enough to remove it and now the internal fight between his mind body and soul was killing him. That same fight has also given him knowledge of the evils. He discovered that the evils are the spirits of women that had been abused and even killed by men they had loved. That's why my mother wanted to be queen. She possessed Serena to give her the power that she never had.

The evil can live forever but the human body cannot. So my mother was set on possessing my sister to become ruler of Xenthia once her human body had passed. My father wanted me to stop it. Although the internal fight in my father was killing him, he was winning. The constant battle of the two minds within the one body have finally come to an end. The evil and my father come to an agreement. So the day my father died the evil possessed me!

My mother had no idea either. My father was able to fight off the control of the evil. That led my mother to believe that he figured out a way to free himself of it. She didn't care because he was dying anyway and there was nothing he could do.

After his death she decreed that Daniella would take the throne in event of her demise. That was her plan. Possess Daniella and keep herself as a queen. So Daniella has been ruling in mother's absence. Daniella however has not been possessed. That means my mother isn't dead and my poor sister has no idea what she has done.

Lillith and I were very content with our plan. My father had convinced her that it didn't matter the gender of her host. That even if the host was a man that she'd still be in a position of power. That's why she accepted the deal to possess me once my father had died. Our plan was to kill my mother before she could possess Daniella. We thought it would be more years down the line because of my mother being in good health.

At first, I thought that maybe my mother had figured something out. That maybe instead of waiting she had the evil exorcised and put into Daniella. That would have been a great preemptive strike. I had also thought that maybe Daniella became greedy enough to not wait on the throne. I thought that maybe Daniella had killed my mother and freed the evil through death, and she became possessed. None of that is the case and now none of it matters.

All I know is that the river has turned. That means that the evils are coming back. Xenthia and their precious queen have no defense against them. They're going to destroy the kingdom. Then just as Serena done it long ago. I will save the kingdom and take my place on the throne as King.

Daniella I must say has done a good job as queen. Our queen disappears without a trace and the kingdom still flourishes. She was able to convince the people that her being queen is a personal matter that's being settled in the castle. She has all of the castle staff sworn to secrecy. She hasn't even told me the truth yet. Maybe I should tell my sister the truth. I mean at this point there's nothing she can do to stop it. She is a terrible person but then again aren't we all. I mean I'm possessed by a murderous spirit right now. I think that I will talk to my sister after all.

"Hello Daniella."

"Auron, I take it that you finally want to know what happened to our mother huh?"

"I mean that would be nice considering the fact that I am her son. Also, you did tell the people that it was a personal matter to be settled in the castle. I'm indeed in the castle."

"I love you brother. Mother didn't, she hated you and it turn tried to make me hate you, but I don't."

"Why is this relevant now?"

"Because now I know why. Mom told me that she was possessed by an evil spirit of a woman that hated men. She told me that I was to carry on her legacy. That I was to be queen and rule with that same evil spirit inside of me. She told me that it was to happen once she passed on but now time was of the essence. So, she had the high priestess attempt to exorcise the evil from her and allow it to possess me. I wanted no parts of it. So, after the high priestess removed the evil, I had her trap it. Mother is trapped in a secret cell at the back of the dungeon. I do not wish to kill her, but I cannot have this secret get out. I cannot allow the people to know that their queen had been possessed. That her entire rule has been controlled by an evil spirit. So, I'm going to rule and once mother passes away naturally. I'll announce her death."

"Sounds like you have a plan then."

"Wait, you believe what I told you just like that?"

"Makes sense do me. Mother has hated men forever. She never showed me love. You said it yourself that she hated me and forced you to treat me that way. What type of woman hates her own son? Have you ever seen any sign of love and affection between her and father? She didn't even cry at his passing. Then she made you the heir to the throne ahead of the prince? So yes, I believe everything that you've said. I only have one question? Have you noticed the turning of the river?"

"Yes I have. I've consulted a wise woman who told me that the last turning of the river was a great time for Xenthia. That our kingdom thrived and became a more powerful nation after that. So the river turning under my rule means I'm going to make this kingdom even greater. I'm going to be the best ruler Xenthia has ever had!"

"And I'll be here right by your side."

"Lillith, what should we do now?"

"Nothing, the kingdom belongs to us! Helena has been removed from her host there's nothing she can do. The evils will come. We will send them away. We will turn the river back around. We shall be KING!"

Auron walks out of the castle. He's walking through basking in his glory. Patiently waiting for the evils to arrive. That's when he sees her. The most beautiful woman he's ever seen in his life. It was like she was glowing.

She walked very slowly towards him. His eyes never diverting from her. Then as she gotten close enough for him to hear her, she spoke. Her voice sounding like that of an angel.

"Hello my name is Alexis. I am here to see your king!"
