Friends First Sight
Two young boys become friends at first sight. However, they are complete opposites. Will this bring them closer or tear their friendship apart?

Once again he was the new kid at yet another school. Sam’s parents kept moving them, he didn’t understand why. Every time he tried asking, they’d give a new excuse, “We need a fresh start.” “This isn’t a good neighborhood.” “The school system isn’t good.” He’d been to public and private schools. He felt out of place, like he didn’t fit in because he was different. Though he was shy and kept to himself mostly, once you got to know him he blossoms like a flowers. He becomes more open, more outgoing and shows his true colors. He’s also someone you could trust with anything and he wouldn’t tell anyone or judge you. He was basically a sealed vault.
At first he was dreading going to this new school but as soon as he walked in, he felt this rush, chills ran down his back and all of the sudden he found himself smiling. He shook his head to wipe the smile off his face. He became confused. Why was he happy? What’s this feeling that he’s feeling? He took a deep breath, continued smiling, and said, “I think this is going to be a good semester.”
He walks to the office to get his schedule. “OOPS! I’M SO SORRY!” he falls to the ground as another boy accidentally bumps into him. They get up, Sam chuckles and says, “Its okay. Are you okay?” The other boy brushes his sweater and says, “Yeah, I’m good.” The boy looks up and holds his hand out, “Hi I’m Dean!” Sam shakes his hand, “Hi I’m Sam. I’m new here.” Dean’s eye get wide, to which turns into a friendly smile, “OH! You’re the new kid! Well welcome to Blue Waters High! If you need any help, just let me know and I’ll help you out as best as I can.” Sam gets his schedule, “Wow, he’s…Different…” Sam thought. “Hey, uh, can you help me find Mr. Holms classroom? Seems I have him for homeroom.” Sam says. “Yeah! Of course! Just follow me, I’ll show you the way!” Dean smiles, starts walking, Sam quietly follows suit.
“So what made you and your folks move here?” Dean asks, trying to get to know the new kid. “We, um, wanted a fresh start. At least that’s what my parents told me.” Dean looks over at Sam and notices he has a confused look on his face. “Something wrong?” Sam looks up at him and all the sudden Dean has a realization, “I’m so sorry, I’m not trying to pry. I didn’t mean to ask out loud, I noticed you had this look on your face and guess I thought out loud on accident.” “Nice going… Now he probably thinks I’m nosey, getting all up in his business… Which I technically am doing cause I’m the cat that curiosity killed.” Dean thinks to himself. “Oh, it’s no problem. We just move around a lot but I don’t understand why. I ask my parents and they usually just brush my question off or say some sort of excuse.” Gets a little quiet between them.
Dean shows Sam Mr. Holms classroom and wishes him luck on his first day. “Hey, thanks by the way,” Dean tilts his head a little on confusion, “What do you mean?” “Nobody’s ever bothered to ask me anything when I arrive at a new school. You’re the first,” says Sam with a little smile, “So thank you.” Dean smiles and waves, Sam waves back. “Hmm… He’s different… He’s quiet but honest and actually really nice, especially to someone he doesn’t know. Doesn’t try to act all tough or anything. I like him.” Dean thinks as a small smile forms on his face. Had he discovered a new friend? Could they get along? Could they handle each others differences? What secrets do they hold dear to them?
