Floating Heads

Mac’s best friend, Dave, was over, and they were bored. They were tired of playing video games for a change, and it was too hot to go outside and shoot hoops. They finally decided to get some tacos but were a little short on funds.

Dave was digging in the couch while Mac was counting his change. Mac had $8.13 in his change jar, and Dave came up with another $2.37 in change, two Skittles, a popcorn kernel, and a small ziplock baggie with four strange-looking pieces of candy.

“Wonder what this is? Must be left over from Halloween last year.” Dave commented.

Mac looked at the baggie in Dave’s hand, “Huh, one of the party guests must have come in with it. I don’t remember buying any that looked like that.”

After toying with the idea, the young men decided to try the candy themselves. So, dividing the candy up, they threw it in their mouths.

“Oh, my, that’s nasty!” Dave ran to the bathroom and puked.

Mac jumped up to follow him but tripped and fell, causing him to swallow the candy.

Whatever was in those pills must have been fast-acting. By the time Mac struggled up and walked to the hallway, he saw heads floating around him, laughing at him and mocking his inability to walk straight down the hallway.

The last thing Mac could remember before the heads took over was saying, “What did you find, Dave? What the fuck did you find.”
