Her slumped form sat defeated at the table. Her emerald eyes, once sparkling, were now lifelessly transfixed on the battered back door.

Buzz buzz

The raging storm outside stilled, mirroring the hurricane inside her. Both holding their breath. She read the message:

“I’m watching you.”

The storm inside burst, continuing its violent rampage: heart thundering, eyes raining tears, and fear jolting her like lightning.

Trembling, her gaze snapped to the two turbulent emerald orbs, identical to her own, that dangerously glared from outside.

Buzz buzz

“I’m coming for you.”
