Dragonfly Returns: The Secret Odyssey

This is the 10th long story of the installment and the official sequel of 'Dragonfly: The Devil's Deception'.

Chapter 1

16 years ago,

Young George was studying in college and became a topper in his department (Business and Economics) in the first year. So, he was receiving scholarships and awards at the college ceremony for his academics and martial arts skills. Everyone claps. Young Scarlet (aka, Ladybug) and young Ryan (aka, Hornet) were also clapping for him and glad for their best buddy.

The principal asked him about his secret mantra for becoming a college topper in his department and his success. Young George replies, “Thanks to my father and late godfather Vedant sir (martial arts teacher).”

(Young Scarlet and Ryan became silent)

George: They always encourage me to become a better person, a better human being.

Everyone claps. Scarlet and Ryan stand up and clap for George with a smile.

Chapter 2

Present,

George wakes up from bed. He joined his wife Bella and children Brian and Daisy at the breakfast table who are now 12 and 10 years old respectively. At present, they live in a luxurious villa in New York. George as always a successful businessman and a billionaire, performs his business in legal ways. Sometimes, he also works as a spy and motivates (as a lecturer) the new joiners at the SWARF (Secret Workforce Association of Revolutionary Fighters) developed by him and Jacob.

It was three weeks before Christmas Eve. George promises his wife Bella and children (Brian and Daisy) that this Christmas will be bigger and they will celebrate it in their apartment in a bigger way. It will be a perfect family Christmas. Brian and Daisy are so excited.

Bella: Sounds great. But, what about others? Won’t we invite them?

George: Yeah, of course. But, it will be in the evening. Before that, we will celebrate it at midnight.

Bella: I understood. You mean a pre-Christmas Eve.

George (smiles): Yes. You’re always intelligent honey.

Bella (smiles back): Of course, I’m your wife.

The following evening, after completing their dinner and preparing the kids for bed, Bella and George went to their bedroom. They shared a romantic conversation and moments.

Chapter 3

The next evening, George receives a special courier from his friend Jerome, who lives in Germany. He is a scientist. The letter consists of an encrypted message that shows ‘Nectar has risen again’. It indicates a buried past of his life. George had no choice but to ensure his family and friends’ safety, he left for a solo and personal mission on the next day. However, he assures his wife and children that he will return before Christmas Eve.

Kuala Lumpur,

Based on Jerome’s letter, George visits Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to meet Frank. He is associated with medical corruption. However, due to lack of proof, he is still not arrested. George visits his villa with a high security. George overpowers all the guards and enters Franks's house. They had a long argument over Nectar. After a few minutes, George beats him and hands him over to the local police. Frank told him that he was not alone in reviving Nectar.

George collected the pieces of information and some documents from Frank’s villa and headed toward his next destination Melbourne, Australia.

Melbourne,

George visits Australia to apprehend Hughie, a drug dealer. He knows a bit about Nectar. George visits his apartment with the local police. However, he didn’t find Hughie. So the police arrested Hughie’s team members who informed them that Hughie left early to attend a meeting.

Meanwhile, in New York, Bella was tensed after she couldn’t reach George via phone. So, at first, she contacted the FBI headquarters who informed her that George didn’t visit them. In addition, he isn’t on a mission. It’s because George is on a private mission and hasn’t informed the authorities yet. Later, she tries to contact Akash and Agatha (Mr and Mrs Das) but their assistant receives the phone and informs her that they are out of the city (for their mission).

So, Bella sent an email to Akash describing all the details.

Chapter 4

Melbourne,

Hughie is having a conversation with Tucker Gonzalez after the meeting. Tucker is a gangster and the main mastermind behind the Nectar’s rising. Hughie was informed that police had raided his home, so he took the train instead of his car. He enters the train and is greeted by George and a few of his team members.

George politely asked him to tell Tucker’s intention and everything he knew about Nectar. Hughie refuses, and George warns him. So, combat started between George’s and Hughie’s team members on the train. Hughie is on his way to escape but George manages to tackle him. However, two of Hughie’s men manage to tackle George back. They’re beating George after he lost his momentum. Suddenly, a bomb came blasting the train door.

The person that came from the door is Fiona (aka, The White Sparrow). She came here to rescue George. She kills two of Hughie’s men with her gun who were holding George. Later, George with the help of his team members and Fiona kills Hughie’s remaining gang members. After that, he and Fiona asked Hughie to surrender. After giving the information he has to George and Fiona, Hughie is arrested by the local police.

Later, George asks Fiona what she is doing here as he didn’t inform anyone as it’s his private mission. Fiona replied that Bella had contacted Akash but he was on another mission with his wife Agatha. So, Akash sends Fiona to assist George. Then, the duo headed towards Prague, Czech Republic to apprehend Tucker.

Prague,

George is driving a car and Fiona asks him a question.

Fiona: So, what is Nectar?

George: My karma.

Fiona: What?

George: It’s a long story.

George started telling a story of his past.

Chapter 5

14 years ago,

(The time when George used to be a gangster.)

Frankfurt,

Two years after his martial arts teacher Vedant sir's demise, George went to Frankfurt to kill Tucker's brother Leonardo Gonzalez who is associated with the assassination of Vedant.

[George (Voiceover): Late Victor wasn't the only one who killed Vedant sir but Tucker's brother Leonardo was also involved with him.]

As soon as George enters a factory with his gang members to kill Leonardo a shootout occurs between them. After a heavy gunfight, George successfully killed Leonardo. However, he received two bullet wounds. As a result, he fainted.

After a few days, George woke up in the hospital. Jerome as a junior doctor cured him. George woke up and thanked him. They studied in the same university but in different departments.

George: Thanks, buddy.

Jerome: Why thanks. I didn't do anything. It's your creation.

George: I didn't understand.

Jerome revealed that when he was ill George helped him in his project. George created a medicine using flower nectar and named it ‘Nectar’. Later, the project helped Jerome to complete his project. Not only that, he used it to cure George.

Later, a few evil gang members got the formula of the medicine. They decided to use it to create a powerful weapon stronger than nuclear. After learning the truth, George, with Jerome's help, destroyed the medicine and its formula.

Present,

Prague,

George reveals that the copy of the medicine formula was also in a drive that they didn't destroy. Somehow Tucker steals it from Jerome’s lab. Now he is going to create something powerful that is harmful to humankind. So, they have to stop him.

George and Fiona went to Tucker's possible location. However, he had already left the place. George and Fiona get back in the car. They've decided to visit Berlin at Jerome's lab.

Chapter 6

George starts his car. The duo isn't aware of the fact that they're getting chased. Fiona noticed a car beside them and informed George. Several cars started chasing them. A car combat started in the streets of Prague. A missile has been launched towards them. The duo jumped from the car. After that, a gunfight started.

After a few minutes, George and Fiona emerged victorious and headed towards Berlin.

Berlin,

George and Fiona visit Jerome's lab. Jerome and his wife Linda greet the duo. They have a conversation about SWARF and a lot of things. After a few minutes, George asks Jerome about the main incident. Jerome replied that one of his scientists, Bashir stole the drive of Nectar’s formula and sold it to Tucker.

Fiona asks Jerome about Bashir’s location. He replies that he resigned after the incident. Currently, he is in Cairo trying to establish his own lab with the money he received from Tucker. So, George and Fiona are all set for Egypt.

Cairo,

After a small chase in the market, George and Fiona successfully apprehended Bashir with the help of local legal authorities. Bashir told George that Tucker wanted to create a powerful drug and dopamine with Nectar. In addition, Tucker wants to kidnap Dr. Morgan in London, a famous British medical scientist for this task.

Fiona: What should we do now?

George: We’ve to stop Tucker. We’ve to reach London ASAP.

(After boarding on George’s private jet)

Fiona: What will happen if Tucker creates dopamine using Nectar?

George: If he does so, then the whole youth will become drug-addicted. They will use it to boost their performance in every aspect.

Fiona: Oh no. It’s dangerous.

George: Yeah, I know it. I’ve contacted Ryan about it. Before we reach, he will look into the matter.

Chapter 7

London,

Ryan failed to stop Tucker from kidnapping Dr. Morgan. Tucker’s men threaten to kill Morgan if Ryan doesn’t call his force to drop their guns and make their way.

Fiona receives a call from Bella asking if George is fine or not. So, George tells Bella he is fine and will reach home before Christmas Eve as he promised his children. After a few hours, George and Fiona reached London.

However, Tucker blackmails Morgan that if he doesn’t create the dopamine, he will kill his daughter.

George, Fiona, and Ryan reach the place where Morgan is kidnapped. George asks Tucker to surrender. He smiled and said that he already made 180 particles (6 boxes, each containing 30 particles) and sent them to different locations. Tucker orders his men to stop them so that he can escape with the helicopter.

After successfully overcoming the gang members with the help of Fiona and Ryan, George tries to stop the helicopter with his hand. However, he loses his grip and Tucker escapes with the drive.

Ryan suggests that they will provide him with a helicopter to chase him. Later, George, Fiona, and Ryan chase Tucker’s helicopter. A combat in the sky starts, and Tucker’s helicopter catches fire but Tucker with a parachute jumps. Later, George also jumps but without the parachute.

Chapter 8

George jumps on Tucker to stop him. They fell into a storehouse full of coal, firearms, and gunpowder. A duel combat took place between them. Guns are also drawn. As a result, the place caught fire. However, both lost their guns later.

After a tough combat, Tucker takes a gun from the factory and aims it towards George. However, it was a malfunctioned gun. So, Tucker ended up firing himself. His chest and right hand were bleeding. He sarcastically praises George and asks if he has become a hero or a villain by doing this.

George replies,

“A hero can destroy his family to save the world and a villain can destroy the world to save his family. But for me, everything matters. My family, my friends, and this world. I’m a better human being now than I used to be.”

After that, George starts walking. The place explodes and kills Tucker. George destroys the drive by throwing it into the fire.

As George walks, he recalls his past with a smile. He thinks about how much he has evolved.

Epilogue: A Promise Kept

Finally, George returns to New York a day before Christmas and reunites with his family. He kisses his wife Bella and hugs his children Brian and Daisy. The children were thrilled after seeing their father.

On the other hand, Ryan finds all the particles and destroys them with the help of Jerome and Linda.

Fiona resumes her regular duty as an Interpol officer. She gets in her car and finds a gift sent by George with a letter thanking her for the help. The letter also consists of a reminder about George’s Christmas party on the 25th evening.

George with his wife and children celebrated the pre-Christmas Eve.

Post-Script

A group of five men enters a room. They put some photographs and newspapers on the table. One of them says, “Good evening ma'am. She's the one who killed your sister.“

The person sitting on the chair thanked them and asked them to leave.

The person turns around, it's Sophie, the identical twin sister of Margaret (who was killed by Scarlet in 'Ladybug: A Mother's Redemption.')

Sophie looked at the pictures of Scarlet in the photographs and news articles and burst slightly into anger. Later, she throws a newspaper. Sophie smiles (while holding Scarlet’s photo) but her eyes long for revenge.
