Mr and Mrs Das: The Spy Couple

This is the eighth long story of the & overall 10th installment in the universe.

The story is about two of my main spy characters Akash and Agatha, they are a married spy couple who also appeared in my previous stories as main characters.

Chapter 1

New York,

At present, Akash has over 50 restaurants around the globe and is a successful businessman. His wife Agatha is a higher-ranked officer in the FBI. Their son Augustus is now 7-years-old. Akash’s mom Aditi still lives in London and is a famous meditation teacher there. The couple visits her every month with their son.

It was the annual function ceremony at Augustus’s school and he received awards for his dedication to study throughout the year. His parents were proud of him, clicking his pictures at the auditorium. A few guardians of other students claimed that he got this achievement because of his powerful parents. However, Akash and Agatha (aka Mr. & Mrs. Das) ignored their comments with style.

Later, they visit their home at night and have their dinner. Akash and Agatha hide the fact from Augustus that they are also spies. After completing dinner, Agatha prepares Augustus for bed. The couple tell their son that they’re proud of him. Even if he doesn’t score well in academics, they will still be proud of him. Agatha kisses Augustus on his forehead.

After that, Akash and Agatha went to their room and teased each other playfully and romantically about their academic days and grades. Akash asks Agatha when they should tell their son about their spy life.

Akash: Don’t you think, we need to tell our son about our additional roles?

Agatha: I also think so but it’s not the right time. When the time comes, it will reveal itself.

Akash: You’re right. Right now, we should focus on gifting him a sibling.

Agatha smiles. After that, the couple shared a passionate kiss.

Next morning,

Agatha receives a phone call from Jacob. He is asking the couple to visit as it’s urgent.

Chapter 2

Akash and Agatha reached the FBI office in New York to meet Jacob. In the same place, they are also greeted by Brendan and Elisa who are engaged to each other now. Mr and Mrs Das congratulate the new couple. After that, they have a serious conversation.

Jacob informs Akash and Agatha that a software engineer cum intelligent hacker has created a problem for the global cybersecurity system. His name is Cipher and he is using AI and hacking the systems of several legal authorities around the globe. Jacob needs the assistance of Akash and Agatha to stop this and apprehend Cipher.

Akash: I appreciate you for choosing us for this mission. But can I ask you something? Why do you think we’re the right choice for this task?

Jacob: That’s a good question.

(Jacob handed Akash the picture of Cipher.)

Jacob: Do you find anything familiar?

Akash: His facial structure is almost similar to my wife's. Wait is that?

Elisa: You’ve guessed that right.

Akash: Is he yours?

Agatha: Yes, he is my twin brother Gabriel.

Brendan: This is the reason that we contacted you guys.

Jacob: I know Akash that you stay busy. But.

Akash: Oh, come on. Don’t say like that. We’ve come too far.

Agatha: So, how will we start this mission?

Jacob consoles Agatha that it’s a hard task for her to apprehend her brother. Agatha replies that it’s her duty and if her brother is responsible for the unlawful act he will be arrested. Jacob was impressed and asked the couple to set on a global adventure for the mission.

After departing the FBI headquarters and driving towards home, Akash asked his wife Agatha what made his brother-in-law choose such paths. Agatha replies, “I don’t know”.

Akash: I just heard about him from George but never really met him.

Agatha: Yes, actually after our father’s demise, I got the posting in FBI. He also got but he refused and started his own tech company. Although, he was successful but don’t know what happened. That’s what I have to figure it out.

Akash holds Agatha’s hand.

Akash: We have to.

Agatha: For sure.

(Both smiles)

As the couple sets on a global adventure they ask Brendan and Elisa to look after their son Augustus.

Two days later, the spy couple boarded the flight. Their first stop is Paris, France.

Chapter 3

Paris,

Mr and Mrs Das disguised as tourists, visited a few iconic landmarks and gathered information about Cipher from their undercover agents. According to the details, there's a bakery in Paris ‘Croissant Cafe’ owned by Gabriel’s love interest, Suzette.

The couple went to the cafe and ordered a few pastries like normal customers. After that, they surprised Suzette by asking him about Cipher’s location. She was afraid and hesitated. However, her worries fade after seeing Agatha. She and her husband Akash tell Suzette not to worry about it.

Agatha: Where is my brother and why is he doing that?

Suzette: I don’t know. However, he told me to wait and have faith in me. Soon everything will be exposed. The truth will come out.

Akash: What truth?

Suzette: I don’t know but that’s what he told me.

After that, Akash and Agatha travel to Rome.

Rome,

After reaching the place, the couple recalled the days when they met each other first time and completed a crucial mission in this iconic city (during the events of ‘Dragonfly’). However, as soon as they entered a place as per Jacob’s direction, they were attacked by a few evil gangsters. A car rampage occurs in the streets of Rome. The couple successfully overcame them after acquiring a few pieces of information. The next evening they went near Vatican City to apprehend an evil gangster Francesco.

The spy couple visits a bar in disguise. Akash sits closer to Francesco and they have some sarcastic conversations. After a few hours, police came and assisted Akash and Agatha in apprehending Francesco.

After interrogating Francesco, Akash and Agatha discovered a few possible locations of Cipher. Thus, for their next trip, they’re headed towards Salzburg, Austria.

Chapter 4

Salzburg,

Akash and Agatha explore the natural and architectural beauty of the city through the car. They reached their hotel and contacted Jacob who informed them that an undercover agent named ‘Honeybee’ was tracking Gabriel’s activities and movements. He told the spy couple that she will meet them tomorrow.

The next day, Mr and Mrs Das were walking near the Mirabell Gardens while holding each other hands. They were planning to visit this wonderful city again with their son for their next vacation. Suddenly, Akash heard a familiar tone from the street musician who was asked to play the music by a lady. She was signaling the couple to sit on a bench nearby. The lady appeared and introduced herself as Maisie, aka ‘Honeybee’.

Maisie: Welcome to Salzburg, Mr & Mrs Das. Jacob told me everything. It’s nice to meet you guys.

Akash: Thank you. What do you know about Gabriel? I mean Cipher.

Maisie: Gabriel was observed at the Buckner tech company in Salzburg. He was in a conversation or I say in an argument with the company CEO, Carl Buckner. He is also on my suspicion list for some illegal activities such as global cybersecurity threats.

Agatha: Where we can find them now?

Maisie: Carl has a villa where he organizes parties every weekend. We have to go there but with caution. As there is a strict security.

Akash and Agatha went to Carl’s villa with Maisie on Saturday evening. They tricked the security with a few innovative gadgets and entered the villa. It was quiet because the guests had already left. So, only Carl was there having his drink.

Agatha: Carl Buckner. Your game is over.

Carl: Who the hell you guys? How did you enter? Security!

Akash: Where’s Gabriel?

Carl: I don’t know. Security!

Maisie: They can’t hear you. So answer the question and you will be free.

Carl: So you guys think it’s easier to seek the answer from me?

Carl praised them for their bravery to enter the place but he pressed a button under the table and several other securities came with guns. After that, a heavy gunfight started. However, Mr and Mrs Das successfully emerge victorious with the help of Maisie. Akash punched Carl in the face and he fell.

Carl: Alright, alright. Gabriel left for Zurich two days ago and I don’t know much about it.

Later, Maisie discovers a few innovative weapons, blueprints, and plans of Carl. It’s about influencing global cybersecurity to fulfill his business intention. It also proves Carl’s involvement with a few gangster groups. So, Maisie arrested him.

Maisie: Thank you guys. Because of you two, I’ve finally arrested Carl who was on my suspicion list.

Agatha: You’re welcome.

Maise: But, what about Gabriel?

Akash: We’ll look into the matter.

Agatha: We have to go to Zurich. We need you as well.

Akash: Maybe not right now, but soon. Only if you want to.

Maisie: Oh come on, it’ll be my pleasure. You guys can call me anytime.

Now, the couple headed toward Zurich.

Chapter 5

Zurich,

As soon as Mr & Mrs Das arrived in the city, they didn’t waste their time. They reached to Claus. He is under the suspicion list of Jacob and Maisie and is one of the main masterminds behind the global cybersecurity threat. He is a corrupted businessman and has a deep connection with the underworld.

Akash surprised Claus with Agatha at a cafe in Bahnhofstrasse. As it was a busy hour, they politely asked him to surrender and tell the location of Cipher, aka Gabriel. Agatha tells him they have proof of his involvement with the rogue AI developers. Claus ignored their words and tried to leave the place, but failed. The local police forces helped the spy couple in apprehending Claus.

During interrogation, Akash asked Claus about their intentions. He replies that he doesn’t have much information but they are planning to hack the global security and banking network. In addition, Cipher threatens him and is planning to set a cyber attack tomorrow during the financial summit. Akash asked a local police officer about the timings of tomorrow’s summit. He replied, "8 am".

Akash: Oh shit. We have less than 24 hours.

Agatha: Where we can find Gabriel?

Claus: I don’t know.

The following evening, Akash and Agatha visit the summit venue with Swiss armies and police officers to ensure security. As soon as they reached the control room, they observed various high-tech equipment with numerous LED screens on the wall. They heard the sound of someone typing a keyboard. Later, the screens in the control room started displaying the security codes of different banks around the world. They stepped forward and noticed Cipher, aka Gabriel who was typing a keyboard.

Agatha: Gabriel! Stop. This isn’t the way. What are you doing?

Gabriel: Agatha, my sister, you’re always right. But, right now you won’t understand what I’m doing and why. It is bigger than me, you, and any government.

Akash: You’re risking the global cyber security. I don’t know your intentions but this is not the solution.

Gabriel: I’m not risking anything. In a few hours, you’ll realize everything.

Before their reaction, Gabriel activated the security alarm and chaos occurred. He uses smoke bombs to fool the local authorities and flees away. Akash tried to intercept him but failed. However, Agatha manages to collect a pen drive dropped from his pocket.

Gabriel rides his bike and the spy couple chases after him with a car. Akash was driving and Agatha was extracting the information from the drive in her laptop. It was a long chase but Akash successfully intercepts him this time. Gabriel fell from the bike and was asked to surrender by the spy couple.

Gabriel: Look, I’m not the real enemy. There’s a huge misunderstanding which I can explain.

Chapter 6

At a private beachside house,

Gabriel greets Akash as his brother-in-law and praises him for his bravery. He also appreciates Agatha for her achievements.

Akash: Now tell the truth.

(Gabriel sighs)

Agatha: Answer it, brother. We need to hear the truth

Gabriel: I’m not the Cipher.

Akash: What?

Agatha: Then, why does everyone think you’re Cipher?

Gabriel reveals that Cipher is an AI that is proposed to be developed by Gabriel’s tech company. It’s a powerful AI that was developed to fulfill human needs. However, it has a few flaws related to security so he asked his developer to rectify it. However, one of his employees Dario who is the main developer of Cipher sold it to an evil gangster organization (owned by an infamous gangster, Vega). Later, they use it to steal funds and data from several legal authorities worldwide. In addition, the evil organization uses Gabriel’s face as Cipher’s avatar to do this. As a result, he became a criminal with false allegations.

Agatha: Why should we believe you?

Gabriel: As I have the proof.

Akash: Do you?

Akash untied Gabriel and warned him not to betray their trust and waste the chance they gave to him. Gabriel smiles and pats Akash’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, you won’t regret it.”

Gabriel showed them everything including the information derived from his pendrive. After that, he told the couple that they should work together on this mission. They strategize their plans for the next few hours.

Gabriel: You know what my sister. Jacob has inspired me a lot with his newly developed spy team. I’m also thinking about creating my own to fight against cyber threats.

Akash: That’s interesting. Did you think of any name for it?

Gabriel: Not yet. What about the ‘Lizard Gang’?

Agatha: Sounds ambitious but right now we should focus on this situation.

Gabriel told them about their next move to apprehend Sameer. He is one of the main masterminds behind the Cipher. He is in Cairo, Egypt right now for a meeting.

So, the trio is all set to travel to Cairo.

Chapter 7

Cairo,

Finally, the trio landed in the city of pyramids. They put on disguises to apprehend Sameer who is one of the main masterminds behind the global cybersecurity attack. The spy couple and Gabriel got information from one of the local legal authorities about Sameer’s location. He informs them that he will be in a hotel for a meeting.

In the evening, Mr and Mrs Das visited the hotel in disguise. The security was tight but Gabriel’s intelligence and tech skills disabled the CCTV. Later, Sameer was apprehended by the spy couple after a small round of combat. They took him to Gabriel.

Gabriel asked Sameer about the organization and their intentions with the Cipher. He told them that Vega was the main mastermind behind this. Currently, he is using AI with the help of Dario to steal funds and data from several legal authorities and banks around the globe. Sameer told the couple and Gabriel that it’s hard to stop Cipher now. After asking Dario and Vega’s location, Sameer said, “They’re in Budapest now.”

After that, Sameer was arrested by the Cairo police. However, Akash and Agatha discussed with Gabriel that stopping the Cipher is impossible. They might need something magic or a powerful AI tool to fight against the Cipher. Gabriel tells him it's impossible right now to build a powerful AI like Cipher. It took them almost 18 months to create Cipher but it still got some flaws.

Akash thought of an idea. He and Agatha called Elisa and told her everything and sought help.

After that, the couple and Gabriel boarded the flight toward Budapest, Hungary.

Chapter 8

Budapest,

As soon as the trio entered Hungary's beautiful capital city, they were greeted by Maisie. She said that she knows the truth from Elisa about Gabriel. Akash asked Maisie if there was any help sent by Elisa to stop Cipher. Maisie replies, “Yes, of course”. She introduces Cedric to them. [Previously, Cedric appeared in the short story, ‘The Eighth Wonder’ as a main supporting character and the plot twist.]

Currently, Cedric is 19 years old and working with the CISA. He was sent by Elisa to assist Mr and Mrs Das to stop Cipher. He was working on a project and created an AI tool CIPRO. The AI may be under development but Cedric assures it’s the perfect time to test its ability. Gabriel doubts and asks him what if it doesn’t work out, since the AI tool is under development. Cedric assures that he created this tool and it’s working perfectly, he just needs assurance before he launches it. Gabriel hesitates a bit but Agatha tells her brother that they don’t have any other options.

After tracking the location of Vega and Dario, the spy couple went to apprehend them with Gabriel and Maisie. A few local police officers were also there. Vega was discussing with Dario about their next big cyber attack in their grand mansion. Dario smiles and shows him his laptop shows it’s already in the process. So they went to their control room office which is not far from the place. Vega appreciates Dario that no one will stop them now.

Suddenly, Gabriel breaks the door and enters the control room. He said, “Not till I’m here.”. Mr and Mrs Das also enter the place with Maisie and ask Vega and Dario to surrender. Vega replies, “I wish but it’s too late.”

Cedric: Not for long. (via hacked microphone)

Finally, Cedric launched his CIPRO to hack the process of the Cipher. A combat started. Gabriel starts a fight with Dario. Meanwhile, Akash started a hand-to-hand combat with Vega. Agatha and Maisie began shooting the evil gang members.

Gabriel: You betrayed me, my people, and my company. You’ve to pay the price.

Dario (smiles): I only did what I thought was right.

Gabriel (punches Dario): Now, pay the consequences.

Finally, Cedric’s CIPRO overpowers Cipher and stops the cyberattacks. All the evil gang members have been killed. Vega and Dario are on their way to escape but get beaten by the spy couple, Maisie, and Gabriel. Later, they got apprehended by the Interpol. Gabriel has been cleared of all the fake allegations and charges. Cedric shouts in joy.

Mr and Mrs Das watch the sunsets while holding each other hands. Gabriel and Maisie were also present there celebrating the victory with a smile.

Epilogue: Homecoming

New York,

Akash and Agatha return home and reunite with their son Augustus. Jacob praised them for their bravery and also for their effort to free Gabriel from the fake charges. Maisie also receives recognition from Jacob. Brendan and Elisa also appreciated them.

Gabriel also reunites with his ladylove Suzette. They decide to rebuild their life in the USA.

Later, Mr and Mrs Das introduce Gabriel and Suzette to their son as maternal uncle and aunt at a celebration party at their home. Jacob, Maisie, Cedric, Brendan, and Elisa are also present there.

Augustus: Are you also a spy like my parents?

Everyone was taken aback. Brendan and Elisa told Akash and Agatha that they didn’t know anything about it.

Gabriel: Maybe one day or soon, I’ll surely let you know about it.

(Everyone smiles.)

Akash: We’ve been through a lot for the past few days. Yet, we make it here what matters to us the most.

Agatha: Family. No matter what happens, we’ll always have each other’s back.

(Everyone cheers with joy.)

As the world is free from the recent cyber security threats, the spy couple resumes their daily routine with peace. They know that challenges will arise but together they can do anything. Especially with the allies like Gabriel, Maisie, and Cedric.

Post Credit (Post Scripts)

A group of 10 people are in a meeting. They were discussing something important. One of them shows them a box. He tells them not to worry about anything and they will be successful in this collaboration.

All of a sudden, a power cut occurred. After a minute, the power came back but the box had been replaced with another box. Everyone noticed and was surprised. As soon as a person opened the box, the entire place was covered with smoke. Eight of them fainted.

The speaker receives a note. He turns around and observes a mysterious figure disappearing from the place. He was wearing a hat and his face was covered with a mask. After that, the speaker fainted too.

The note consists of the following:

“Your secrets are no longer secure - Chameleon.”
