Chameleon: Master in Disguise

This is the ninth long story of the universe. It's a new character.

Chapter 1

2001,

Moscow,

A week before Christmas the streets of the Russian capital were covered with snow. Little Albert (10 years old) is going to his school and on a mission. He wants to impress his classmates today at the school’s annual winter program. He will perform the role of Sherlock Holmes in a play.

In the school auditorium, the children were enjoying the performances. The next play is scheduled for Albert’s class. He is all set and perfectly dressed in his costume with a hat and a magnifying glass. As the play continues, he surprises everyone with his British accent. “You know my methods, Watson”, he said in the famous dialogue of Sherlock Holmes. Everyone clapped and praised him.

His classmates praised him by saying he disguised himself as Sherlock Holmes perfectly. Later, the program ended and his father came. “Time to leave, Albert”, his father said. He followed his father’s footsteps towards home.

Albert’s father used to work for a gangster organization. However, he was too little to understand.

10 years later, Albert’s father died due to a chronic disease. His last words to Albert were “Live with honesty, Albert”. After his father’s demise, Albert moved to Atlanta, Georgia, USA. At present, he is married to Gwen who works in the medical sector. Albert is a junior detective and officer who works for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). He lives with his wife and brother-in-law Spencer in Atlanta.

Spencer is almost 11 years younger than Gwen. After their parent’s demise due to cancer, Gwen raised her brother like her son.

Chapter 2

Present,

A phantom thief threatens the entire Europe. His name is Chameleon and he is perfect and famous for disguising. As a result, he is hard to apprehend. He steals important data and assets from a few political authorities.

6 months ago,

Atlanta,

Albert performs his duty (with honesty) for the DEA. He returns home quickly to celebrate his 32nd birthday. His wife and brother-in-law gave him a perfect birthday surprise.

Spencer just graduated from high school and entered college. He wants to join the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) as a cybersecurity specialist. One night while having their dinner, Spencer told Albert about his dream. In addition, he informs that currently, he is working on a project that can resolve the ongoing political tension between the USA and Russia, if he becomes successful. Albert always encourages Spencer and there's no exception this time as well.

However, Gwen intervened by slowly clattering her fork on the plate, “That’s dangerous. You don’t have to be involved in global politics”. Albert replied, “Oh come on. It’s an ambitious project. You should encourage your brother.”

Albert wishes his brother-in-law all the best and advises him to be careful since it’s a big project. Spencer with an ambitious smile, “I promise, I will.”

Chapter 3

Spencer is completely focused on his project. He spends hours on his laptop, gathering data, tracing the digital footprints, and connecting them. His classmates make fun of him and call him crazy for his work but he doesn’t listen, as he is encouraged by Albert. Spencer starts gathering physical data by himself. However, he is unaware that his work didn’t go unnoticed.

A few evil gang members informed their superiors about Spencer’s activity.

One day, while returning home from college, Spencer was approached by a few people wearing black suits. They told him they would help him to collect more data to complete his project. Spencer is hesitant at first but agrees to their offer, so he gets in their car. He isn’t aware of the fact that he is abducted.

Gwen was tensed as her brother didn’t return home. So she contacted one of Spencer’s classmates and he told her that he already left today before the last period. Later, Albert returned home and was astonished. So the couple went to the college authorities and observed the CCTV footage that showed the abduction of Spencer. Later, the couple filed a case to the local police and they assured Albert that they’d try their best to find Spencer.

After returning home, Gwen blames Albert for Spencer’s abduction. In addition, she told him that for this reason, she forbade her brother, Spencer not to be involved in this matter but Albert encouraged him. However, Albert promises he will bring his brother-in-law back to his wife.

Albert can’t do much in this matter as a DEA detective, so he thought a plan. He looked at his childhood album and memories flashed. He recalls how he used to disguise himself in play or school.

Chapter 4

Albert went on a European tour to find his brother-in-law. He disguised himself in various ways to steal the data from a few corrupt politicians associated with the underworld. A few gangsters don’t want the political tension between the USA and Russia to be resolved. Otherwise, it can hamper their illegal business growth.

A person who disguises himself is most wanted. They named him as ‘Chameleon’. However, no one observed his original face or identity.

Present,

It becomes hard to apprehend Chameleon. So, the case goes to Interpol but they also fail to apprehend him. So, they contacted Daphne Williams, a famous Interpol officer based in London, UK.

After completing his tasks in four European cities, Albert visits Paris, France for his next mission. Daphne uses her intelligence and discovers the exact location of Chameleon.

Paris,

Albert as Chameleon was successful in his mission.

Daphne sets a trap but Albert knows he can’t afford to be apprehended. His mission to free his brother-in-law is important and he can’t waste time. Albert uses his smartness and skills to overcome the trap set by Daphne.

A local police officer informed Daphne, “Ma’am we’ve failed.”

Daphne replies, “He’s smarter than we think. I hope there must be a connection, we can forecast.”

Daphne isn’t aware of the fact that Albert is the ‘Chameleon’ who is on a mission to reunite his family.

Chapter 5

Daphne is a bit desperate to catch the Chameleon. It’s like a cat-and-mouse chase.

Vienna,

Finally, Albert reached Austria for his next mission. After succeeding, he is all set to escape. However, Daphne has set another trap for him. She decides to apprehend him alone.

This time Daphne emerges victorious. The chameleon, aka Albert, is caught by Daphne alone.

Daphne: Your game is over, Chameleon. Now you’re coming with me.

Albert: You need to listen (while coughing)

Daphne: Quick! I haven’t informed the authorities yet. They’ll take time to come.

Albert told everything to Daphne with proof. He also told her about his mission to rescue Spencer. She was skeptical at first but the proofs were enough for her. She understood everything and agreed to assist him.

Albert teamed up with Daphne. She doesn’t inform anything to Interpol. Daphne uses her sources, gadgets, and skills to discover the possible location of Spencer.

According to her intelligence, she tells Albert that Spencer might be in Switzerland in an encrypted place near the Swiss Alps.

Chapter 6

Saint Moritz,

The duo travels to Switzerland to rescue Spencer. They reach the encrypted place which consists of high security and is a hub of illegal business.

They entered the fortress by fooling the security. Albert and Daphne both disguise themselves.

Albert: We’ve entered the place but where to find Spencer and how to get out from here after that?

Daphne: Getting out from here is on me. You just find and rescue your brother-in-law.

They were shocked after discovering the place. It was full of technical gadgets and more. The gangsters held meetings in this encrypted place. Albert and Daphne were ignoring the CCTV. Finally, they went to a room full of various documents. Later, they discovered Spencer’s location.

Daphne goes to the washroom to contact Interpol and Albert visits the place to rescue Spencer. Finally, Albert rescued his brother-in-law. However, he was interrupted by a guard. So he punched the guard’s face. Later, the guard enables the security alarm. Albert instructs Spencer to run.

The guards are chasing Albert and Spencer with firearms. Daphne kills a few guards with her gun. She steals a car and asks Albert and Spencer duo to get in. They left the encrypted place.

Chapter 7

It wasn’t an easy task. The trio is still chased by numerous guards. A chase and car combat starts in the snowy forest near the Swiss Alps.

Daphne requests Interpol to send help. After the call, the trio looked back and saw a few helicopters were also chasing them. Albert asks Daphne if he can use any of the weapons in the car or not. Daphne replies, “Why you’re asking, you’re a DEA officer. Feel free to use”.

Albert uses firearms such as rocket launchers and guns against the evil guards. After a few times, Albert and Daphne swapped each other’s places. She requests Spencer to tighten his seatbelt and Albert to drive with speed. Daphne uses her gun to suppress the enemies. However, four helicopters are chasing them as well with numerous cars and tanks.

Albert: We can’t stop them alone.

Daphne: I know.

Albert: Where are they?

Spencer: Hey, what is that?

The trio looked at their front.

Suddenly, a giant helicopter came in front of their vehicle. Yet, it didn’t attack them. A few rockets are coming from the giant helicopter and destroying the enemies’ helicopters one by one. The person who is firing the rockets is Maisie (aka, Honeybee who previously appeared in ‘Mr. and Mrs. Das’, as a prime supporting essence). She waves her hand to Daphne indicating she is here to rescue them. One by one she destroyed the enemies’ vehicles.

A few remaining vehicles were still chasing the trio. Maisie asks her pilot to get down the helicopter a bit. As a result, Albert, Daphne, and Spencer get on the helicopter with the help of the rope ladder. Daphne sets a bomb on the car which later crashes with the enemy's vehicle destroying them. The trio sighs a relief.

Chapter 8

Daphne and Maisie were childhood friends. After getting into the helicopter, Daphne thanks Maisie for rescuing them. She replies that it’s her duty.

Maisie: We’ve still a work to do.

Daphne: What is it?

Maisie: But I guess we need three pairs of hands.

Maisie shows them three bigger high-tech missile launchers that they can use to demolish the encrypted place. Daphne suggests Albert’s name. Maisie replies, “Then, great”.

Maisie instructs her pilot to move the helicopter towards the encrypted fortress. After that, Albert, Daphne, and Maisie use the nuclear guns to demolish the enemy’s fortress.

Maisie: Finally. We did it.

Daphne: Yes, we did.

Albert thanked Daphne and Maisie for rescuing his brother-in-law. They thanked him back saying that without him it’s impossible to destroy the fortress which is a hub of evil gangsters and their illegal activities.

Maisie: You’re lucky Daphne, I received the call at the right time. I will be leaving for Budapest tomorrow.

Daphne: I’m also amazed to see you here. Thanks for everything.

Maisie: Thank you, Albert. Without you, it isn’t possible.

Maisie and Daphne reveal that they are on another mission where they are tracing the locations of a few evil gangsters they want to apprehend. Thanks to Albert, they’ve destroyed the main encrypted place where the gangsters gather.

Albert: But, what about the proofs and the documents? The fortress is already destroyed.

Daphne: Oh. I have already stolen the files that are required from the place. These will guide us to trace their locations.

Maisie: You’re always brilliant Daphne.

Spencer (raising one hand): Ah. What about my project?

Daphne promises that she will assist him with the help of Interpol to disclose the real identity of those few corrupt politicians. Later, she does so with the proofs and data collected by Albert, as Chameleon.

The identity of the corrupt politicians has been disclosed to the public. They are arrested by the Interpol.

Epilogue: Reunited

A peace has been established between Russia and the United States. Thanks to Spencer.

Daphne receives praise and recognition for her bravery from the Interpol. She also assists Albert in reuniting with his wife, Gwen in Atlanta. Spencer also reunites with his sister.

Albert returns to his regular life as a DEA officer. His department also praised him.

Finally, after a long time, Albert enjoys a peaceful dinner with his wife and brother-in-law at home. Albert and Spencer sharing their experience with Gwen and they were enjoying every moment with laughter and joy.

Post-Script (Post-Credits)

Daphne is taking Albert into a specific room of a random headquarter.

Albert: Where are we going? You said it’s urgent.

Daphne: Yes, it’s. Don’t worry.

Albert: But where are we going?

Daphne: To meet someone special.

Albert: Okay.

They've entered a room. A person was sitting backward in the chair.

Daphne: Sir, he is Albert, aka Chameleon.

The person turns around. It's Jacob.

Jacob greets Albert, “Nice to meet you, Albert. Would you like to have a cup of coffee?”

Albert nods his head. They all smile.
