"Those cyclamen aren't going to plant themselves, you know," Trevor prodded.
Sylvia thought, He's such a nag. She decided to plant the cyclamen because it would keep him off her back - no other reason.
They'd met at gardening club. Trevor's first wife, Kim "the Tart" had run off. Sylvia thought his silver beard and gold-rimmed spectacles made him look refined but he was hiding who he was behind his benevolent disguise.
The trowel hit something hard. White. A bone.
"Did you and Kim have pets?" Sylvia asked.
"No."
"What's buried there, then?"
Sylvia's curiosity was soon laid to rest.

Ooohhh.....entirely worthy of a Hitchcock film. Interestingly enough, Trevor is such a handsome, upstanding name.......
Did not see that coming!! Brilliantly achieved shock factor! Well done, Rachel!
Dang. Trev will be interviewing for a third gardening partner then?! Fab last line - but not for Sylvia obviously.
Ah, that's a nice play of words there! Loved it hehehehe
Perfect last line

Haha love a good dark microfiction. Very nice!
Ooooo! Clever and short-lived twist!
Very nice crime microfiction. Excellent job setting the scene and leaving just enough room for the reader to realize. Great job Rachel.
A refined appearance often seeks to disguise a rougher interior. This is an excellent example of a perfect microfiction! Well-wrought!
Okay, you've got me. 💀
Curiosity killed the cat, eh?
Uh oh. Let’s hope the tart didn’t really become part of a tart. Phew. Riveting, Rachel.
