RECAPE-

Zayel wakes up and notices something terrifying—he’s starting to forget things. His name, his memories, even his past are slowly disappearing.

He’s not the only one. Other upgraded teens like Dex and Lira are also losing pieces of themselves. They discover that the upgrades are deleting emotional memories on purpose, making them easier to control.

While searching the system, Zayel finds a video of his mother, telling him to never forget who he is. The system tries to erase the memory, but Zayel fights back by rewiring his console to protect it.

In the control room, Dr. Varin watches everything.

Zayel is now marked as “Subject 01”—the one who resists.

And Varin is ready to push him into the next phase.

EP-8 BEGGINING-

The air inside the Code X facility was colder than usual.

Zayel could feel it in his bones—something was coming.

He sat quietly in the tech lab with Kai, Dex, and Lira. The others were gone—either eliminated or mentally erased by the system. Only four remained.

Kai opened a small hologram on the table. “This is it,” she said. “The root control center. If we reach this terminal and upload the rebel code, we can rewrite the system.”

Dex frowned. “And what happens if we fail?”

Lira answered softly, “Then we forget everything—forever.”

Zayel nodded. “Let’s make it count, then.”

They had only one chance.

Earlier that week, Zayel had found a memory-preservation patch in the hidden code—something buried deep inside the facility’s backup systems. It was a security tool, never meant for them to see. But he and Kai rewrote it into something new:

The Rebel Code.

It would stop the memory wipes. Unlock their hidden files. And maybe—just maybe—break the control loop that made them prisoners.

But there was a catch.

Someone had to install it manually, inside the root core. And that room was guarded by both drones and live security.

Midnight.

The group dressed in dark suits that blocked scanners. Their wrist consoles were silent. Node had gone quiet since Zayel overrode its memory filter.

He didn’t miss its voice anymore.

They slipped out through a maintenance shaft and followed the map Kai downloaded days ago. Every hallway was a risk. Every corner could be the last.

Finally, they reached a sealed metal door with a glowing red lock.

Dex plugged in his tool and typed quickly. “I can override this, but it’ll set off a silent alarm. We’ll have five minutes, max.”

Zayel nodded. “That’s all we need.”

The door slid open.

Inside, the Core Room was massive—walls covered in glowing screens, code lines racing across them like lightning.

In the center stood the main terminal.

Zayel stepped forward.

Suddenly—a voice filled the room.

“Welcome, Subject 01. I’ve been expecting you.”

The screens shifted to show Dr. Varin’s face.

Kai pulled out a device. “Stall him!” she shouted.

Zayel stepped closer to the screen. “You lied to us. You said we’d be stronger. Smarter. But you’re turning us into machines.”

Varin smiled calmly. “Machines don’t make mistakes. Machines follow orders. And you… were supposed to be the prototype.”

While Zayel spoke, Kai attached the rebel code to the terminal.

“Installing now,” she whispered.

Varin’s voice darkened. “This will not save you.”

Suddenly, the lights turned red. Sirens blared.

Security bots dropped from the ceiling, moving fast.

Lira stepped forward, blasting two drones with her shock baton. Dex held off the door with a pulse shield.

“Almost there!” Kai shouted.

Zayel turned to the screen, blood rushing through his veins.

“You want control?” he shouted. “Then watch what happens when your system chooses to be free.”

Upload complete.

Rebel Code activated.

The screens flickered violently.

One by one, they began showing old video files—memories of the teens before they arrived. Laughter. Family. Real moments.

Zayel could feel something shifting inside.

He wasn’t just fighting back.

He was remembering who he was.

But then—

A sudden burst of static.

The screens went black.

A final message blinked:

Core overloaded. Emergency reboot in 10… 9… 8…

Kai shouted, “We need to move! Now!”

Zayel looked back at the console, breathing hard. “It worked,” he said.

They sprinted out as the countdown echoed behind them.

Inside the control room, Dr. Varin watched the chaos unfold.

But instead of anger, he smiled.

“Perfect,” he whispered. “Phase Three begins.”
