To pursue or not to pursue? I say, Pursue!
And here I am, chasing, chasing, chasing! And he's looking back at me, wondering where I am, and I'm there, on his heels, grinning and hurtling after him, gaining with each running stride!
My speed mocks his hare-paced fleeing as he leaps and dodges to make his escape! Whoops! Watch that old lady! Don't look at me, mate!
He needs to look where he's going!
Gaining...gaining...gaining...
Careful!!!!
Shame.
There is nothing quite like the look on a person’s face when they run in front of a fast moving bus.

100 words
It is fair to say that I can't remember the original rules for this challenge. Maybe 100 words is too short but the streak to me is too important as a personal goal and time is here, like a jackhammer, taking away every precious minute I have.
100 words will have to do.
And now, I have to add judicious syllable-checking to my poetry challenge entries in order for them to qualify because it would appear that my knowledge of syllables, my intelligence and my ability to count these using my fingers is not enough to avoid questioning. Sigh.

It's an excellent drabble, Rachel. As for your poetry, you can always take an easy way out and run it through the AI to check for structure and number of syllables. That's what my students would do.
