CHAPTER 2

As soon as Nia and Carlos exit the school gate, they both stopped and turned around to see the school. That tall and dark building looked like a mysterious and ominous place. Carlos said, "I think we should just give up". Nia replied "No, we'll go back and find more about that place".

Both went home and none of them could sleep peacefully that night. In the morning Nia went to Carlos's house to ask him to investigate the school further in the Evening. They both entered the school again. As the sun was still visible, they did not fear much. As soon as they entered the school building, they felt being watched. Nia told Carlos to turn on the thermal camera. They started walking towards the stairs. After reaching the stairs they first scanned the stairs through their camera. Everything seemed fine so, they started climbing the stairs. Soon they reached the first floor and enter the first classroom from their left. Suddenly a fog covered the whole classroom, and they can hear the noise of children talking and bustling with excitement. Slowly the fog started to form the figures of children sitting and talking in their classroom.

Carlos whispered, "be quiet, let's see if we can get something from this weird supernatural activity". The children in the classroom all were dressed as students, the walls were decorated with craft items and all the students looked like senior in high school. Nia said in a low voice, "Carlos I think all these students committed suicide". Carlos said, "You never know, who knows maybe there were just one or two victims and mass suicide was just a rumor started because if these kinds of paranormal activities". Nia replied, "maybe other people who came here before us saw the same thing which we are seeing right now, and the truth got twisted or maybe there was a mass suicide". Carols, "Let's go back for now". Nia, "shh".

The students started to settle down onto their seats and a male teacher wearing a formal suit entered. The teacher started teaching and then suddenly the classroom turned back into an old room having broken desks and chairs….

Nia and Carlos stood still as the fog disappeared. Nia said, “I think what we saw, happens every day and that’s why we didn’t feel threatened like last night”. Carlos “maybe. For now, let’s just move forward”. Both started walking in the corridor while examining their surrounding and watched every room of that floor through their camera. Soon they reached the end of the corridor and turned back to return to the staircase. After reaching the staircase Carlos said, “Let’s go to the second floor before the sun sets.” The second-floor corridor had windows on the walls. Nia noticed an old handmade wind chime hanging on one of the windows of the corridor and said, “Turn the camera on that window”. There was nothing unusual. Carlos said, “Let’s go inside the classroom to investigate this time”. They entered the classroom and felt incredibly cold. Suddenly a small shadow from the corner of the room travelled towards the door and disappeared. Nia and Carlos tried to follow but couldn’t. Carlos said, “It’s getting dark now let’s head back.” Both of them then went home. On their way they discussed the events which happened inside the school.

Nia said, “I think we should ask around the town to see if somebody know anything or not”. Carlos replied, “Let’s ask on are way back if we see anybody”.

A beggar was sitting near the pole so, Carlos gave him some money and ask him that the mass suicide in the old shutdown school really happened or not. Beggar answered Carlos that he is not certain but apparently two students and only one teacher died and apparently the teacher murdered two students and then killed himself. Nia and Carlos both of them walked home thinking about the words of the beggar. Carlos said, “I think it wasn’t a mass suicide”. Nia said, “My gut feeling is also saying the same. We should ask around the school first.” Carlos said, “okay”.
