Bethan

I can't believe he hung up! I tried again but it's always voicemail.

I left a message: "Dave, you may not want to talk but I wouldn't have reached out unless I needed your help. Just text me, if you like. I just want to know the names of the boys. If you can remember them, please just text them to me and then I promise, I will never bother you again."

Let's see if he gets back to me. If he doesn't, I might have to go and find him. I need answers and I think he should be involved. Why doesn't he want to know? This could be the answer to finding out what happened to Laney. Why doesn't he care?

This could be it! It could!

Dave

I had to know. Had someone taken the camera? I went up to the wardrobe and reached behind the shoes. Fumbling around, my hand came into contact with it, exactly where it should have been. My relief gushed into me and I let out a sigh. Still there. My secret was safe.

Luke

Seeing Matt after all these years felt good. And bad. It's amazing how easily it is to drift away from people who at one point were the centre of your world. I miss that friendship. They were good days. I don't think I can remember one where I didn't laugh.

Actually, I can.

I don't know whether to find Mark. Matt didn't say one way or the other but with his last comment, I felt like there was something he wanted to tell me about Mark and that day. He didn't say anything but I could tell...oh, I don't know what I could tell. Maybe I'm imagining things.

I'll sleep on it. Nightmare. Better knock myself out with sleeping tablets. God, I need a drink.

Voice mail. Again. Why is he being like this? Does he think I want to contact him? The man's a shit. Leaving me like that. It was bad enough that he was away so much but to treat me like this...

Well, if he won't answer me, I'm just going to have to go to him.

Very curious about both Dave’s secret and what Mark and Matt kept from Luke!

  • Hmmm… Dave should have checked inside the camera 🧐😳… I’m clueless how the photo turned up 🤔. Keen for the next episode ✅

I like that you're giving us some background but not giving away the plot. Old friends view their friendship differently. Looking forward to the next installment.
