Cupcakes for sale!
I see the sign attached to the small booth with two girls as I walk down the sidewalk.
Hmmm, I haven’t had any baked goods in a while. Why not?
I head toward the booth, eyeing the different flavors. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and a few others I can’t identify.
When I approach the booth, the brown-haired girl asks, “Would you like to buy a cupcake?!”
I smile, “Yes, I would.” I tap my index finger to my chin. "What’s your favorite flavor?”
She grins, “Chocolate!”
The blonde-haired girl lifts her head, “Strawberry.”
I lean forward, “I’ll take one of each, then.”
“Yay!”
“What do I owe you?” I reach for my wallet.
The brown-haired girl ponders this for a moment. “Five dollars.”
“Deal.”
I hand her a five-dollar bill, and she hands me the cupcakes. I take a bite of the chocolate one first, surprised how tasty it is.
I give them a thumbs up before switching to the strawberry one, which is just as delicious.
“These are tasty.” I hold both of them in my hand. “I bet you two will be amazing bakers.”
They both grin as I wave and continue down the sidewalk.
