A beggar has come to the village

Things return to their rightful owner

By Jack WilsonPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

There was a village where the villagers were very loving and liked to help those in need. One day, a ragged beggar, who appeared to be in his early twenties, came to the village. He had wandered around begging for food since his hometown was flooded.

The beggar washed his face at the river and transformed into a clean-looking young man with thick eyebrows and big eyes. The villagers felt sorry for him and didn't chase him away. Instead, they gave him some food and arranged for him to live in a big empty house that had been unused for years at the entrance of the village.

The house looked good, had many rooms, and a large yard that appeared to be extending its arms to embrace something. However, no one dared to live in it because whoever lived there would have bad luck, either getting sick or having family members disappear.

The original owner of the house was a teacher. He lived with his parents and wife and they all lived happily together, especially in the autumn when the roof, yard, and front road were filled with drying corn, grains, and peanuts, and the trees in front and behind the house were full of various fruits.

Neighborhood children, like birds, were greedy and came over to pick food in the bright sunlight, chattering away. They often saw the teacher's five-year-old child and would often play with him, making him laugh happily.

Suddenly one day, the child disappeared and was kidnapped by human traffickers. The whole family was heartbroken and searched everywhere, but it was difficult to find such a small person in such a huge crowd. The whole family was very sad and left the place, never to return. The house remained empty.

The young man did not mind the house and happily moved in, expressing his gratitude to everyone. He learned tailoring and opened a tailoring shop. His business got better and better, and people from neighboring villages came to get their clothes made. The young man became famous and respected, and the villagers were happy to have him in their village.

Soon he married the most beautiful girl. One year later, his wife gave birth to a big, chubby son.

How strange, that nothing unpleasant happened?!

The villagers whispered among themselves and there were all kinds of rumors, but in the end, they all agreed that the young man was there to grab land and that all the previous misfortunes were caused by him.

To drive the young man away, the village chief specially invited a fortune teller. When the villagers learned of this, they secretly gave some money to the old man, hoping that he would say some false words to drive the young man away. The old man accepted the money , the old man, with a white beard, lively spirit and went around the house and then went inside to look at each room and chat with the young man, understand some questions, and seeing the young man was very happy and his family was very harmonious, the young man loved his wife and child very much, after the old man finished looking, he was originally going to say that this house was not suitable to live in and that it blocked the village's wealth, but he didn't say it, he took out the money he had received and returned it all, shaking his head and leaving quickly.

The village chief chased after and asked the reason, the old man said: "Do not force it, things return to their owner, it's that simple."
