303 The Political Multiverse
For TUESDAY, October 29, Day 303 of the 2024 Story-a-Day Challenge

Wonder Woman twirled her magic lasso. Now Thor would have to tell the truth. But Thor was a god, not some mortal. He fought the necromancy of her golden rope and shouted.
"I cry for Thrudheim, that realm of Asgard that's home. It's been overrun with demigods of low worth from Midgard. Who's patrolling the border there? The worst sent from nether regions. Guardians are eating the raccoons. DC's emptied its Phantom Zone and sent their murderers and rapists. If you DC superheroes inflict your worldview on us, kiss the Marvel way goodbye."
"You Marvel characters are narcissists," the Amazon replied.
"No! We're gods!" Thor shouted.
"Same thing," she explained. "You're never wrong. When called down on something, you merely double down. DC superheroes fight for truth, justice, and the American way!"
"No," Thor countered. "You're all just unidimensional nerds in our multiverse. Always gettin' along. Just good-vs-evil. At least we see the gray."
"You incite chaos. Your ethos is clobberin'. You pit one group against the other. You're boorish."
"We're complicated. Not all camaraderie is rainbows and sportsmanship and can't-we-all-get-along bullshit."
"You're right, Thor. None of you get along! While we make Justice Leagues, you Avenge. One of you is always getting smashed by Hulk—ah, the Marvel mindset. You've even had a civil war. You fight each other more than Earth's existential threats."
"We're human," Thor said.
"I thought you were gods."
"Well, at least we're not little bitches."
"Don't want rainbows? How come you can't get into Asgard without the Bifröst. Neither Æsir nor Heimdall ever intended their burning bridge to be a welcome mat for the likes of Loki."
"FYI, he's bi. And you're a fine one to talk, how you all whacked off a breast and act so butch."
"We're complicated," Wonder Woman said.
"All I know is DC characters are all super-do-gooders."
"Right. Translated...superheroes. And all you Marvel characters are assholes."
"Super-assholes, to you! We say, 'make the multiverse great again!'"
"For who?"
"For us. Not them."
"Who's them?"
"Certainly not us!"
"When's all said and done, Thor, what kind of world do you want?"
"Might-makes-right is a good start."
"I'm going back to Themyscira. I'll check back in four years."

excellent piece of writing and storytelling , you indeed one of the best writers
A very sharp review of both, AND excellent political commentary at the same time. I could never write so well as this 😁
Gotta hand it to you. My geeky little comic-kid heart is all a-flutter with this one. Quite amusing/amazing how you captured the essence of the philosophical platforms of the two universes in such timely political satire. Of course, I'm team WW & DC all the way (except if the lasso of truth encircled me I'd have to admit that Marvel has waaay better movies). Star Trek vs Star Wars allegory next?
Nice one. Marvel has the box office but can DC come back and make a fight of it? I got such a chuckle from this line: "We're human," Thor said. "I thought you were gods."
Very imaginative 😅. Thoroughly enjoyed this!!! Annnnnd Congrats on the 63-day countdown! 🥳 Way to challenge yourselves and commit! 🤩 What are you all going to do on January 1st? Probably write a story. 😁
I may end up wanting to go to Themyscira - or somewhere else - too.
