Food Culture in Norway Steps It Up
I love the salmon but it was the porridge that really caught my eye. It was the day-old porridge, made with oatmeal cooked overnight with tons of crunchy seeds that captivated my attention. The staff has just prepared it at the sour dough bakery within the multi-story food complex of Mathallen in Oslo. They were going to serve it in go-cups the next morning and I really wished I worked in Oslo at that moment (or that it had been ready to taste then and there).

Just Grubbin Series: The Atlantic City Seafood Festival
For the crustacean nation the Atlantic City Seafood Festival is back and is moving to Atlantic City's famous boardwalk! This year's festival will be held outside, adjacent to The Showboat Casino. We have some major seafood fanatics on our team of bloggers at JustGrubbin.com so this might as well be our Super Bowl. The two-day celebration will have something for all ages, including live entertainment, games, a touch tank, and so much more. With September being National Hunger Action Month, the Atlantic City Food Festival will once again support the Community Food Bank of New Jersey by donating a portion of their proceeds from the event to the organization. Last years event was able to raise $10,000 which is equivalent of $100,000 in food distributed throughout the Garden State and this year they plan on increasing that amount!

Be the Fungi
As the summer grows late and the trees fill themselves with the last reserves of the deep green chlorophyll of summer, many will hike deep into the mountains of Colorado. They are in search of a hidden treasure that only comes with patience and a little luck. It is the season of mushroom hunting in the mountains.

My First Time At: Steak 'n Shake
Before I get too deep into this I would like to clarify: there are some places I have visited in my travels I will not review. The reasons for this will vary from "a review is not appropriate" to "I do not review large chains." This falls to the latter. The Steak 'n Shake restaurant is a fairly sizable chain with over 500 restaurants nation wide and is just getting larger. I recently had the opportunity of going to a Steak 'n Shake for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised.
