Tacos, Taco Salad, Or Both

Growing up I have always been a foodie, I absolutely love food and because of that food has always been a comfort for me. So When I moved to Mississippi because I was placed in foster care I was surprised by the different foods here in the south. One of those foods happen to be a Taco Salad that I've honestly never even heard of.

When I first heard of it I thought ok so a taco in a salad? I'm a bit confused, but when I first saw what it actually was my mouth watered and I fell in love with it. Not only that but it is a really good summer meal. My family cooks it all the time, if it isn't taco salad it is Rotel and don't get me started on how they make rotel here in the south. Overall this is a meal that's made for the whole family.

Not only is this good but it can also get addicting, it is just something about tacos and Doritos that just goes sooo well together. Especially when you add the secret sauce to it. You can have the taco salad with everything on it as you would make a taco or if you want you can just add the meat and cheese, but I honestly like everything on it.

WHAT IS A TACO SALAD?

Well to put it in the easiest terms its a taco but not in a shell, its a taco but on Doritos.

INGREDIENTS

• Ground Beef or any type of meat you desire
• Cheese
• Lettuce
• Lime
• Chips of your choice, but i prefer Doritos
• Taco Seasoning
• Sour Cream
• Taco Sauce

SO HOW DO YOU MAKE IT?

• It is simple you prepare your ground beef like you are making tacos.
• Grate your lettuce up or if you want to buy the already grated lettuce that is in the bag you can do that as well.
• Grate your cheese or if you also want you can buy the already grated cheese
• Cut your lime of lemon of your choosing

Once you have everything together that's it, you take your plate place your Doritos and add your toppings It should look something like this, and honestly it is way better than Nachos !!!

If you like to make the most of it I suggest adding layers and what I mean by that is I add a little bit of doritos then add some meat and a little bit of cheese, then add some more doritos then add cheese then the rest of the toppings. I like to make sure that the doitos are covered.

SECRET SAUCE

OH yeah I forgot one more thing if you do not like Taco Sauce I recommend adding Kraft Catalina Dressing shhhh..... Dont tell no one

The reason I say that is the secret sauce, well because you would never expect to actually put that on a taco salad and yes you can also put it on a taco as well. I bet you are wondering why? Let me tell you it gives a little sweet taste to it and the flavors of the sauce and the flavor of a taco just goes so well with each other.

I've honestly never heard of anyone putting that type of sauce on their tacos so that is why I call it a secret sauce because no one would ever think to put that on there.

Doesn't that look so delicious. Just looking at this picture makes my mouth water so much, it looks absolutely amazing. You can experiment with what type of doritos you want, HECK you can even use hot Cheetos which also goes well with it surprisingly.
