My Top 10 Starbucks Drinks
Celebrating the coffee chain
Fast-food chains have attempted to attract health-conscious customers with coffees and teas. When it comes to fancy beverages, Starbucks still comes on top. My love affair with Starbucks began in New York when I saw one in almost every street corner of the city. I liked going to Costa in town, back then there wasn’t a lot of coffee shops in Banbury, but now there are plenty. Back then we didn’t have a Starbucks, so it seemed elusive and a hip place to be. Now we do have one in Banbury, I know it’s a place where many love to go.
I've been to Starbucks in almost every country that I've been to. Apart from Iceland, because they don't have any there. Yet, Iceland has wonders and glorious cafes of its own.
Now I've been living on my own, I don't go out to cafes as much. I rarely eat out anymore, but I do like making my own drinks at home though. On the rare occasion that I do go to Starbucks, I order green tea. I do like trying something new every now and again.
Picking a top 10 was tough because there are so many drinks to choose from. These are all my personal opinion.
Earl Grey
Earl Grey is one of my favourite black teas because of its flavour and colour. I like to drink mine without milk, although some may have it with milk. Starbucks has nice earl greys because there’s a note of lavender in it.
Jasmine Pearls
This one is a lot nicer than the Clouds green tea one they do. Jasmine tea is also another one of my favourite blends because of the floral texture and light tone. I also think it’s one of the healthier drinks on the Starbucks menu.
Starbucks Cold Brew
I love their cold coffees. This was one of the drinks I actually wrote about on Vocal 4 years ago and it is one of my most-read posts on this site. I still love it as much as I did back then.
Cappuccino Freddo
This was another drink that I had given its own post. It still makes me think of the little chocolate frog bars we used to get in the newsagents.
Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew
My third one on the list that I had already written a review about. I can’t believe it’s been over 3 years since I last wrote that article. How time flies. Not had this in a long time, but I remember the last time I had it was amazing.
Vanilla Latte
One of their simpler drinks. You can’t go wrong with it. I like their vanilla lattes a lot because it has a lot more flavour than some of the other shops that I’ve had coffee at.
Chai Latte
Their chai lattes are also very yummy. I have found that some local cafes from local business make better chai lattes. I recall a café by Queen's Road Peckham station which had a chai latte that would blow Starbuck’s one out of the window.
Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade
the combination of peach juice and green tea works. Sparkling lemonade helps make this refreshing. I like having this with lots of ice to make it last longer. If I’m laying off the dairy and milk, this is my choice of summer drink.
Green Tea Crème Frappuccino
I’ve had this one many times. Sometimes Starbucks Matcha Lattes aren't always great outside of Asia. It's a hit and miss with this drink depending on who makes it. When I’ve had it right, it is divine. I ordered this drink from Japan during cherry blossom season. The foam had this pink stuff on top. I assumed it was a strawberry sauce to represent cherry blossoms. It was amazing. The best matcha drinks I’ve ever had were from Japan.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
My favourite part of autumn is having a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. I don’t know why, but theirs always tastes amazing. it’s all the sugar and cream they put in it, but whatever they put in it works well with the pumpkin spice. I want to try and make my own version of this. I could see myself living off this forever.
