Lauren’s Spicy Buffalo Chicken Pizza
You’ll be famous for it - I guarantee it

My quest for the perfect Buffalo chicken pizza occurred when I was about 22 years old. Even though I loved it when I was younger, I wasn't much of a cook anymore. If the recipe called for an oven, I wasn't going to touch it because I burned everything.
It all started when my sister ordered food from a local pizza parlor. I fell in love with Buffalo sauce and kept searching for this type of Buffalo chicken pizza everywhere I went.
Let’s just say, they were all disasters. One place just put a swirl of Buffalo sauce on a regular pizza. Can you imagine that? Nasty.
I couldn’t shake the craving, so I decided to take a wack at making one myself. All I needed was to know how to make the crust.
It’s taken a while to perfect my pizza crust. It came out more like bread the first few times I made it. Now, it’s a nice texture; not too thin and not too thick. So down below is my recipe. I’m sharing it for the first time in my life with the vocal community.
Ingredients:
For the crust:
2 Cups Warm Water
1 Packet of Active Dry Yeast
2 1/2 Cups of Flour (keep the flour out because you’ll be using extra throughout the process)
3 TBsp of Olive Oil
3 Tsp Salt
For the pizza:
1/2 Bottle of Buffalo Sauce
2 Sticks of Butter
1 Bag of Mexican Style Cheese
How to Prepare the crust:
1. Pour the warm water into a bowl and add the whole packet of active dry yeast. Then, mix the water until the yeast completely dissolves. Then add the olive oil and the salt. Stir.
2. Slowly add the flour to the mixture and stir to make the dough. I usually add 1/2 cup at a time. After adding the flour, you should have a nice plump ball. Check to see if the outside is sticky. If so, add a little more flour. You need to be able to move it around without it creating a mess on your fingers.
3. The next step is to knead the dough. Get out a cutting board or use another clean, flat surface. Spread about 1/2-1 1/2 cup of flour across it, then add the ball of dough. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes. Have fun punching it, creating little sculptures, anything you want.
4. After the dough is kneaded, set it into a clean bowl, cover it, and leave it for 1 hour. When you come back, spread it across a pan of your choice. Fold the edges to create a barrier. That’s it.
How to prepare the pizza:
1. Go ahead and preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. Pour the Buffalo into a bowl. In another bowl, add one stick of butter and microwave to soften. Usually about 15-30 seconds. After the butter softens, add it to the Buffalo sauce and stir.
3. Spread the Buffalo mixture over the crust you just made and add the Mexican style cheese.
4. When the oven is preheated, put the pizza into the oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and the edges are golden brown.
And then bam! You’re done with the pizza. Of course, cut the slices once it’s out of the oven and then let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
This Buffalo chicken pizza is a great way to spend your game day with friends and family, and they’ll love it. Take it from someone who has wowed her in-laws with the fact that I can make pizza. They’ll never forget about it.
