Bagels
There is something magical about kneading a dough. The moment when the flour finally binds with water and yeast, when it all combines into a compact lump of new life, never stops to amaze me. The waiting, if it will raise, makes me feel part of something bigger. It gives me purpose. I become the creator of new life in my very own universe.

Fake Pepper Steak with Fresh Green Beans
This recipe goes back as far as I can remember, but not when I was a child. I don't know why it was called pepper steak because there was no peppers or green peppers in it. The only pepper is the little bit of ground pepper used for seasoning, but I always season everything with a little bit of ground pepper. It is garnished with fresh green beans from the produce in the store or your own garden. As long as the green beans are not over cooked, it lends a wonderful touch to this very economic meal.

Macarons a la Moron
Its 10pm, 24 days and counting till exams, and I'm banging my head against an economics text book. My solution is macarons! I run to the local shop, pick up all necessary ingredients and return home feeling hopeful and ready to create a masterpiece! I first learnt to make macarons in a baking class last summer and haven't been able to recreate them as perfectly since, and I decide tonight is the night. But who would've guessed that cheap scales, loud whisking, and my unhealthy obsession of watching 90210 reruns would be the cause of my downfall.

Anyone who knows me can tell you that I really, truly adore caffeine. I don't go a day without at least two energy drinks in me; and truth be told, I probably make the energy drink industry the billion-dollar business it is.

From Graveyard to Sanctuary
I don't know if my story is all that much different from others that have gone vegan. Well, that's not fully true. I initially tired it to impress a girl. Yes, I tried to stop eating meat to impress a girl. Now, I know that's not the best reason to do anything in life, but like most guys courting a beautiful young lady, I wanted to put my best foot forward to stimulate her interest in me. I met her online and one of the first things I found out was that she identified as vegan. At the time, I had a basic understanding of what being vegan meant. They don't consume any animal products, they love animals, blah blah blah. I even looked up the definition of the word which said: a vegetarian who omits all animal products from their diet and a person who does not use any animal products such as leather and wool. Okay, that's good, but I'm the type of person who "goes hard or goes home" and since I really wanted an opportunity to date this girl I dove deep into the world of veganism and got a lot more then I bargained for.

5 Supermarket Secrets You Probably Didn't Know About
Supermarkets: they’re everywhere, and unless you’re some sort of robot that doesn’t need to eat, you can’t really avoid shopping there. The reality is that human beings need food and — let’s be real — most of us aren’t growing our own wheat or milking our own cows, so the supermarket remains the preeminent point of interaction between us, the consumer, and the vast, faceless food industry. While the source of our foods seems increasingly distant nowadays, the dominance of supermarkets in delivering food products to customers has not always been the case.

Best Places to Eat: Gluten Free
When I was first diagnosed with ceoliac disease, going for meals with friends or family sounded like a nightmare. There was the constant dread of being an annoyance to staff and company or the possibility of there being no options available. When I went out for food I would always look at a menu and just assume what would be gluten free. For a while I lived off of salads and chicken which, though I adore a good salad, eventually became very boring. After a while I finally plucked up the confidence to just tell the waiter or waitress my eating requirements. Turns out that a large percent of the time restaurants actually have an entire different menu for alternative eating requirements.
