Background Information
In general, coffee has been a socializing drink for many countries around the world. In America, many people begin their day with a cup of coffee to start their morning off right. However, it is undeniable that some brands are more affordable than others. Dunkin' Donuts is one of those brands that has been able to become affordable for many Americans. The company claims that the coffee it sells is flavored, but if you are an avid coffee drinker, then you know how remarkable this claim is false. There are many Dunkin' Donuts copycat recipes around the internet claiming to be real, but they lack the originality that makes this recipe stand out.

Dunkin' Donuts Boston Creme Doughnuts Recipe
Ingredients:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons whole milk
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 large egg yolk
3 tablespoons strawberry jam
5 - 6 drops pink food coloring
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a 2-inch round cookie cutter with nonstick spray and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract and egg yolk until smooth. Add to dry ingredients and stir with a rubber spatula until dough comes together in a ball.
On a lightly floured surface roll out dough 3/4-inch thick. Using the prepared cookie cutter cut out as many doughnuts as possible and transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet. Gather scraps and re-roll until all of the dough has been used.
Place in oven and bake 10 - 12 minutes, or until golden brown on top and cooked through. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool to room temperature.
In a small microwavable bowl, microwave the jam until hot and fluid enough to be easily brushed onto doughnuts. Place on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper or waxed paper. One at a time, brush each doughnut with the warm jam until thoroughly coated.
Place the pink food coloring in a small bowl and add 1 tablespoon of water at a time, stirring to create a smooth yet thick mixture (about like cake decoration icing). Transfer the jam-coated doughnut holes to the pink frosting and use a toothpick or fork stem to draw swirly lines from one side of each doughnut hole to the other. Repeat with remaining doughnuts and pink food coloring mixture.
