Burgers, Cars, and Disco

Our local area, no matter where that might be, is a one of a kind experience for all of us. We have our favorite stores, restaurants, cafes, places of entertainment, etc. 

In the ordinary and at times boring moments of day to day life, there is always something new and different to try. Maybe something that was there all along, like a new restaurant or cafe that opened up but you over looked or simple never really considered it. 

I'd like to give you a glimpse into what it's like in my local area by sharing my experience on going to a new to me restaurant with a fun theme.

My experience

It's an especially fun and nostalgic experience if you like classic cars or just cars in general.

Recently I decided to visit a restaurant that has been fairly new to my area after seeing so many good recommendations about it. 

The place is called Greer's Burger Garage and as you might have already guessed, it's a burger and hot dog fast casual restaurant. 

The most unique thing about this restaurant is that it's designed to look like a car garage with a theme that has something to do with cars down to its menu items. 

The exterior design of Greer's Burger Garage not only caught my immediate attention but made me feel as if I stepped right into a 1960's car garage. 

There was a wide selection of burgers and other food items to choose from with many of them referencing cars or something to do with cars. 

If your indecisive about what kind of fries you want or just want a little variety, you can order "garage fries". Its a combination of regular French fries, curly fries, and tater totes. 

Their version of the chicken tender wrap has a unique twist to it: chicken fenders. 

Onion rings are called onion rims. There's also "hub caps" which is all the ingredients of a cheeseburger minus the roll put into a bowl. 

Looking at the various menu items my first time going there, made me very indecisive. 

You can't really go wrong with a burger. So that's what I got. Not just a regular cheeseburger, though. Feeling adventurous, I decided to go with something different. 

The Jalapeno Popper Smash Burger.

It was a burger that offered an unusual but unique flavor combination. Sweet and savory with some spice. 

This smash burger had jalapeno cream cheese, sauteed peppers and onions, sriracha, and crispy jalapenos for even more spice. 

It was a little messy with the sriracha and cream cheese oozing out but definitely satisfying on flavor. 

I had it with a side of onion rims and cream soda. The sauce is called "garage sauce" and it's their specialty sauce. It's not spicy but savory. I used that for the onion rims. 

If you're not that adventurous and prefer plain and simple, they have the tried and true classic cheeseburger as well. 

The decor

The way the decor was set up around the restaurant was unique in and of itself. The restaurant has two levels with more seating upstairs which I'm sure people take advantage of when it gets especially busy. 

The stairs were lined with rims.

And the steps themselves were covered with license plates from all over the U.S.

If you think taking a visit to their bathroom will give you a short break from all the nostalgic decor given already, think again! 

🕺Disco in the Bathroom 🪩

Imagine my surprise when I expected to walk into a typical bathroom and instead walked into flashing lights coming from a disco ball.

The bathroom had a fun and nostalgic 70's vibe from the disco ball down to the flower pillows. The whole atmosphere made me just want to chill out in the bathroom for a little while!

From the food all the way down to the decor, this burger and hot dog restaurant was such a fun and unique experience! I will most definitely be going back.
