5 Bars you must visit in Sydney
Bridge to the Bar

Sydney, a must visit destination for all those travelling to the Aussie land, is home to the worlds two iconic and spectacular works of art, the Harbour bridge and the Opera House.
The heritage listed Sydney Harbour Bridge is pillared strong over the glistening waters of port Jackson. The bridge is also called the ‘coast hanger’ because of its arch based design. Opposite to this lies the monumental Sydney Opera House, a masterpiece that looks stunning under the bright sun and magical under the moonlight. When captured together, they both look postcard perfect!
Vibrant and fast, gentle and relaxed, simply the city never sleeps.
From concerts to carnivals, bookstores to beaches, vineyards to coffee shops, grand gardens to exquisite galleries, dazzling nightlife to classy bars, Sydney has something for everyone.
My heart goes out to all those who had to postpone their trips due to the pandemic. But, need not worry. I will help you experience what you missed - my words and your imagination.
So, I have carefully listed 5 best bars in Sydney to visit. Enjoy now, drink later!
1. The Opera Bar
This is the top bar that everyone needs to visit. It’s located at the Opera House with a view of the glorious harbour bridge.
It’s not just a bar, it’s an experience.
Perfect for any occasion, for couples, groups, families or even solo travellers. Get yourself a drink, find yourself a spot preferably by the water and let the cool breeze, soft music and cheer around make you feel closer to yourself.
This busy bridge, the subtle waves and the gigantic bar bustling with people, is always a great idea.
Also, at the Opera bar, you can capture both the beauties together.
2. The Baxter Inn
A posh and an elegant bar hidden in the Sydney’s CBD is a lovely example of the 19th century style. Going through the basements exit door is the only entrance for this English bar. With wax candles melting on the brick posts, dim golden lights illuminating the arches with blues playing in the background is always packed with working class who also use this as a perfect place to socialise and connect.
The bar itself is extravagant. It has world class selection to choose from. A bit on the costly side but the mystic shadows, giggles and amazing cocktails is a mood setter for the evening.
3. Frankie’s Pizza
In a mood for some rock ‘n’ roll with a drink or two, this is the place to go to. A late night plan can be made even better with this bar. A place with classic pizza, hard rock music and cold beer is perfect spot to hit either with a group or for a date.
I had one of my best dates here! So, much recommended.
It is retro. It is cozy. You might also find a picture of me on one of its walls. Yeah, you understand the vibe now.
With red and yellow twinkle lights put all around the ceiling makes it super chill and goes very well the theme of the place. A live band plays every evening.
Secure yourself a table or a booth, get your drinks and pizza and just enjoy. Soon you with start noticing the place turn into a ‘happy dance’ club. The transition will be smooth but very fun!
With a great location, this place always has a long wait. Stay. Drink. Enjoy. Leave.
4. The Grounds of Alexandria
This place has my heart. This was once a pie factory with brick walls. Now, it’s a beauty to visit. It’s Instagram famous, great for dates, friends and family.
Located a little away from the main city, the travel is worth.
The outdoor sitting with an organic garden, vines and creepers lit up with dainty lights and make the grounds a dreamland.
The beauty of this place lies with the effort that’s put to make it ready for different seasons and festivals. It’s always on point just like the drinks that it serves.
The breathtaking curation of their cocktail menu, the presentation and the ambiance all together make this one of the most beautiful places in Sydney.
They have a pet parakeet with a muto toned tail. It flies around, interacts with fellow visitors and sometimes suggests it’s favourite cocktails too.
Traditionally being a home style restaurant, the grounds have a cosmopolitan vibe which makes it a top pick for travellers and visitors to make beautiful memories with gorgeous pictures.
5. Stitch Bar
Every bar in Sydney is different. This one is simple yet unique. It has so many sewing machines on display, inside and out. This has the most mellow vibe of all the bars I have listed.
Stitch bar is located near the Baxter inn. I took my mom to this bar and she loved it eternally because of her craze for the sewing machines.
This place has a decent bar menu that makes it both affordable and nice. With the quite mood, gentle vibe and a strong drink, this bar would be a perfect fit to have a relaxed evening.
