Pizza recipe

2 ingredient pizza dough

I’ve been seeing this two ingredient pizza dough all over TikTok and Instagram. I actually tried this recipe a couple years ago and I couldn’t really remember whether or not I liked it. I decided to try it again and see if it’s worth the hype. Below is the recipe and after the recipe I’ll let you know if it’s actually good or not(in my opinion). I feel like a lot of of these social media recipes are not really the best- they’re just catchy. I’ll be the judge 😌

RECIPE:

Ingredients:

• 1 cup all-purpose flour (plus extra for rolling)

• 1 ½ tsp baking powder

• ¼ tsp salt

• 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

• Garlic powder, to taste (optional)

• Pizza sauce

• Mozzarella cheese

• Optional toppings: pepperoni, vegetables, etc.

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. Add the Greek yogurt and garlic powder (if using), and mix until a dough forms.

4. Lightly oil your surface and roll out the dough to your desired thickness.

5. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for about 10 minutes.

6. Remove from the oven. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the crust, then top with shredded mozzarella and any other toppings you like.

7. Return the pizza to the oven and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5–8 more minutes.

8. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

RESULTS:

In my opinion, the pizza was … OK. If you’re in a pinch and don’t have time to make an actual dough from scratch this is a great alternative. I would say it’s about the same quality as if you had a frozen pizza. I’ll definitely be trying this again as a stuffed. Also need to try it again because I burnt my crust a little bit this time around.. overall I think I would give it a 7 out of 10.

In my opinion, the crust was just sturdy enough to hold all the toppings, but there was just something missing that. I can’t put my finger on. It lacked some on the savory component of real bread.

If you’re new to cooking I would recommend trying this. It’s so beginner friendly and was actually fun to do. It’s a good way to get kids involved as well.

NOTES FROM THE VIDEO:

1. I used the only marinara sauce I had which I know is not technically pizza sauce. But it gives the same effect.

2. The cheese I used was mozzarella just different types which explain explains the difference in color on the two cheeses

3. I decided to roll up the edges, purely to make it more aesthetically pleasing. It’s not required at all.. however I have seen some creators roll up mozzarella cheese stick into the crust to make it a stuffed crust.

4. What I brushed on the crust at the end was melted butter mixed with a little garlic powder and Italian seasoning. It’s not required, but it does make it feel a bit more elevated.

5. It was SO hard to get the pizza in a prefect circle. I ended up settling for the oval shape. That worked in the end anyway because it fit perfectly in my pan(I don’t have a round one)

6. Let me know if you have made this recipe and have any tips I need to try or if there are any ways you have tweaked it to make the taste and/or texture better ❤️
