fact or fiction
Is it fact or merely fiction? Fact or Fiction explores the myths and beliefs we hold about our family dynamics, traditions, and if there's such thing as a 'perfect family.'
Happy Nightmare
Sorie was sorting out his late grandma's bedroom, when he heard three gun shots outside his house. Let me take you back to the start. Sorie was a 20 years old man, who lost his parents in a car accident when he was three years old. His father's mum took him in and nutured him. She made sure he was provided for, even though she was just a village farmer somewhere in kailahun.

Moonshine on the trolley
Of course, the trolleys no longer ran down this hill, but she thought about them every time she navigated over the old tracks ensconced in the black tar of the streets. Each day as she crossed the intersection and stepped onto the granite curb of Lexington Avenue, she could not help but allow her memory to run, hand in hand with her imagination; to hear the clang of the bell in her mind. She would hop on, skip up the steps, grasping the brass rail with one daintily gloved hand, the other clutched begrudgingly in her older brother's fist. They would ride down the hill each Saturday, to the end of the line, walking the last half mile to the old farm.

Christmas of 1910
The year was 1910, and it was a bitter, cold winter night. Arthur sat before the cozy fire, slowly rocking in his chair and smoking his pipe as he listened to the giggles and excitement from the next room where his eight children slept. His wife, Anna, was with them and was attempting, albeit unsuccessfully, to settle them down so that he could begin his annual Santa Claus masquerade. He shook his head. She had her work cut out for her. What child wouldn’t be filled with excitement on Christmas Eve? She might have to threaten them within an inch of their lives to achieve such an endeavor.

Circumstances of Birth
It wasn't actually that much money, considering. The years, the families - you'd think it would be more than $20,000. But there it was in a ledger nobody knew existed. His office had been cleaned out long ago, but his children had taken their time clearing out the house. For a while nobody could agree what to do with it, and so everyone took the stuff they wanted right away and just left everything else. If not for the recent tourist boom to the area, they might have argued about it a little longer - but they had finally decided to clear it out, dress it up as best they could and sell it. The house was in a favorable neighborhood for vacation rentals and there were plenty of investors looking for property.

Jehovah Jireh
She awakened before sunrise, her heart pumping excitement. She had discovered a hole in the wall in her Grandmother's attic the day before. Her curiosity had pushed her to explore it. She had reached down inside the hole . She could barely grasp an object just within reach of her fingers. It was smooth and soft to her touch. Intrigued, she carefully pulled the object up and out. It was a little black notebook. She opened it to the first page. Only two words appeared on that page. In fact, they were the only two words in the little black book, "Jehovah Jireh." She slipped the little black book into her pocket and ran down the stairs.
