The Brown Bear
Going through her grandmother's belongings weighed heavily on her heart. Penny spotted George, a brown bear puppet, sitting in her grandmother's rocking chair. She cried. Holding it to her chest, for as long as she could remember, memories of her grandmother, or mom-mom as she called her, holding George up to the FaceTime screen and pretending the three of them were having a conversation. Penny decided she would keep George. He even smelled like her with a soft, vanilla scent.

A World of His Own
December 12th, 2010 "You encourage him," Todd whispered in an accusatory tone to his wife. His wife, Emma, sighed indignantly and looked up from where she had been emptying the coffee pot into the kitchen sink. Her hazel eyes narrowed and she asked too quietly, "Encourage what exactly?"

Short Stories for Children
Alice's graduation Alice lived in Paris, France, with her parents. She attended a school called " L'ecole de Roses." Mrs. Richard, Alice's teacher explained perspective to the students and showed them pictures of buildings that were made in perspective. She gave an assignment in which the kids were to draw a street with buildings and houses in perspective. The person who had the best picture would receive a gift.

My hometown
My hometown isn’t just a hometown, it’s a loving community, caring and very involved! From the kids in kindergarten, to the freshman at the football games at night, cold chill thru the air...... you see your breathe, to the seniors on the field on thanksgiving Game of the year! Trying to beat the same rivals for decades!!!! Old school, same Thanksgiving games Guilford Indians against #1 undefeated Madison tigers. Plenty years in a row, to the old couch that pulled strings to keep you in school, I love my old town, my town has had its ups and downs. I’ve watched my children grow in this town and go to those football games! I was at every single one, no matter the weather! My boys practiced so hard and pushed thru some of the biggest challenges of their lives on those football fields, from heart ache, braking up with you high school sweetheart to the beating of two hearts meeting for the first time, and staying together for decades! It’s all here in my hometown. But one other thing stands out about mine, all the kids going to the Green to do Easter egg hunts, to Christmas carols, to stages set up with lights lit the whole walk way with candles in bags . The beauty it was.... to see! My kids, and all Guilford kids walking down the green to get their graduation certificates, heart full of life. To see the smiles on all those kids faces! Their -2 ears of heart ache and hardwork going to the end result! Watching the families gather, and that one kid that stood out. In the crowd driving a moped around the green honking his horn with a big banner in the back flying in the wind, proud of his brother to be graduating finally. Saying congratulations Tyman you did it!!! These kids have had their ups and downs in this town , One of the biggest heartbreak of Guilford was one of their friends, losing their life! I remember that day like yesterday my own we’re getting out of school soon, driving their own cars! And I hear, sirens racing down my road so fast I couldn’t understand why to a commotion of COPS and news tv reporters to find out that one of our own here in Guilford was shot and killed by playing with guns with a friend! Ethan Song was his name! And he lost his live to make new rules in the United States! Ethans law .. ..

Hometown
I don’t quite have a hometown. I lived in the Houston suburbs until I was about 6. We lived near Galveston near my father’s family. I remember swimming in my Grandmother and Grandfather’s pool, playing all day with my siblings, with the sunlight reflecting off the water until our cheeks were sunburnt and our feet were raw from the concrete… trips to Nasa, and 4th of July celebrations and fireworks on Clear Lake… my grandparents’ giant anniversary and birthday parties where it seemed the whole town was there. I still wonder to this day how people could have so many friends. My grandmother was one of the greatest people I have ever known, and my grandfather still is.

When Your Best Friend is a YouTube Star
“Go over to that stranger’s house, see if they have any kids, and if they do, see if they’ll let you inside for lunch.” This isn’t something my mom actually said to me when I was twelve, back in 1994, but it may as well have been because it’s essentially how I made new friends in the neighborhood when I was a kid.

New Boots, New School, New Life
Today I woke up with a smile on my face. I showered, blow dried my hair and put my make up on just right. I put on a slimming turquoise blouse with skinny legged black dress pants. I had just got new brown leather ankle boots and was so excited to wear them. I looked great, I was stylish with a little sass. I looked put together I was ready for my day, I thought ready for anything. I dropped the boys at daycare then grabbed a double double. I had a meeting with Aiden's school at 8:20, he had been very tired at school and wobbly and they had wanted to chat about what was going on and this (virus) he had. Sitting down the concern is expressed that there is something more then viral fatigue; they suggest I take Aiden in sooner rather then later.
