Potential Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water Daily
Lemon Water Every Morning for 30 Days – Does It Actually Work?
Drinking lemon water every morning for 30 days is a popular health trend, but does it actually work? I have two family member who have been practicing this for a very long time. It so happened that these two family members have managed to maintain a good shape. With such good results, I was forced to try it for some time. It actually worked for me, helping me to shred some pounce after eight months of drinking lemon water. My husband just started doing it. Hope we see some results soon. Let’s break it down based on potential benefits and what you might expect from such life style change.
Potential Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water Daily
1. Hydration Boost – Many people don’t drink enough water in the morning, so adding lemon can encourage hydration. I try to carry enough water with me to work. I must admit that some days I barely drink enough of my target goal. Every little effort counts. In my work place, we have a group of staff who encourages each other to stay on top of our water consumption goal. Every sets his/her goals. We have a water fountain that only those who contribute towards purchasing can get water from it. For this reason, staff are encouraged to drink lemon water especially if they are paying of it.
2. Vitamin C Intake – Lemons contain vitamin C, which supports the immune system and skin health. In addition to lemon for vitamin C, I also make a fresh pressed glass of juice daily. We include grape fruit (white or pink), lime, and orange.
3. Improved Digestion – Some claim lemon water helps with digestion by stimulating stomach acid production. We are yet to experience this, but I realized drinking lemon water helps to reduce constipation.
4. Supports Weight Loss – While lemon itself doesn’t burn fat, drinking more water (especially warm lemon water) may help with appetite control.
5. Better Skin Health – The antioxidants in lemon might contribute to clearer skin over time. This is very noticeable with body glowing. My husband keeps saying that may be I have changed my body lotion. This is not true.
6. Alkalizing Effect? – Despite being acidic, lemon may have an alkalizing effect on the body, but this is debated.
7. Freshens Breath – Lemon can help with morning breath, but too much can harm tooth enamel. This is the one thing I really do not cherish about drinking lemon water. I get this sensation on my teeth, making it uncomfortable eating certain food.
Does It Actually Work?
It depends on what you’re expecting! If your goal is weight loss, lemon water alone won’t make a huge difference. However, it can help with hydration and digestion, and it provides a small vitamin C boost. Lemon has actually help me vitamin C boost to the point where I am no longer prone to catching every little bug going around me.
Things to Watch Out For
• Tooth Enamel Erosion – The acidity in lemon can wear down enamel over time, so drink it with a straw or rinse your mouth afterward. I try to use mouth guard at night, but I am not very faithful with it. My husband is very faithful about raining his mouth after drinking lemon water.
• Acid Reflux – Some people might find that lemon water worsens acid reflux symptoms. This is true, and sometime it results to heart burn.
Final Verdict
Drinking lemon water every morning can be a healthy habit, but it’s not a magic solution for weight loss or detoxing. If it helps you drink more water and makes you feel good, it’s worth keeping in your routine!
Would you try it for 30 days?
