7-Day Detox Challenge: Reset Your Gut, Mind, and Energy Naturally
Guiding Principles for the Detox
✅ Focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods
✅ Avoid processed foods, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and dairy
✅ Stay hydrated with water, herbal teas, and detoxifying drinks
✅ Support digestion with fiber-rich foods and probiotics
✅ Incorporate mindfulness, movement, and rest

Day 1: Hydration & Gentle Start
• Morning: Warm lemon water + herbal tea (ginger or peppermint). Every time I travel to a tropical country, I buy a lot of herbal tea.
• Breakfast: Green smoothie (spinach, banana, chia seeds, almond milk), little or no carbohydrate.
• Lunch: Quinoa & roasted veggie bowl with tahini dressing
• Snack: Cucumber & hummus or apple with almond butter
• Dinner: Light vegetable soup with lentils
• Mind & Energy Tip: Journaling + deep breathing exercises

Day 2: Gut-Healing Focus
• Morning: Warm water with apple cider vinegar
• Breakfast: Chia pudding with berries & flaxseeds
• Lunch: Gut-healing bone broth or vegan miso soup with seaweed
• Snack: Handful of walnuts + herbal tea. You can also use peanut (groundnut) if you can not have access f walnut.
• Dinner: Grilled salmon (or tofu) with steamed greens & sweet potatoes. For those who cannot have access to Salmon fish, you can substitute with any other fish you can find around you.
• Mind & Energy Tip: 10-minute meditation + tech-free evening. This can be really hard for us today because we have over reliance on technology.

Day 3: Anti-Inflammatory Boost
• Morning: Turmeric & ginger tea
• Breakfast: Oatmeal with cinnamon, walnuts, and a drizzle of raw honey
• Lunch: Chickpea & kale salad with avocado dressing
• Snack: Handful of pumpkin seeds & herbal detox tea
• Dinner: Stir-fry with broccoli, bell peppers, and tempeh over quinoa
• Mind & Energy Tip: Light yoga/stretching

Day 4: Liver Detox & Digestion Support
• Morning: Dandelion root tea. This is one thing that we struggle with drinking dandelion root tea. I have never seen one, but home to try it someday.
• Breakfast: Smoothie (beetroot, carrots, ginger, and coconut water)
• Lunch: Lentil & spinach salad with lemon-olive oil dressing. In the absence of lentil, you can substitute with black beans.
• Snack: Handful of almonds + detox water (mint, cucumber, lemon)
• Dinner: Steamed fish (or tofu) with sautéed garlic kale and brown rice
• Mind & Energy Tip: Gratitude practice + early bedtime. I must admit I am guilty of not being able to go to bed early, mostly because of social media.

Day 5: Metabolism & Energy Boost
• Morning: Green tea with lemon
• Breakfast: Scrambled eggs (or tofu) with sautéed greens. This can be any dark leafy vegetable
• Lunch: Spiced quinoa with roasted chickpeas & tahini dressing
• Snack: Dark chocolate (85%+) & herbal tea
• Dinner: Roasted Brussels sprouts & salmon (or black beans) over wild rice
• Mind & Energy Tip: Walk in nature + breathwork

Day 6: Deep Gut Cleanse
• Morning: Aloe vera juice + warm water
• Breakfast: Papaya & pineapple bowl with coconut flakes
• Lunch: Fermented foods (kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles, olives, fermented soy beans, yogurt, cheese) with veggie stir-fry
• Snack: Celery & almond butter (hazelnut, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, avocado)
• Dinner: Nourishing lentil & turmeric soup (substitute of lentil, beans, peas)
• Mind & Energy Tip: Digital detox & self-care routine

Day 7: Reflection & Balance
• Morning: Herbal tea & journaling. Some health benefits journaling includes reduction of stress, improving mood and enhancing memory.
• Breakfast: Light fruit salad with coconut yogurt
• Lunch: Superfood salad (kale, avocado, nuts, berries)
• Snack: Green smoothie or fresh juice. Fresh pressed juice is my to go for energy boost.
• Dinner: Nourishing vegetable stew with whole grains
• Mind & Energy Tip: Reflect on the detox experience & set intentions

Additional Tips for Success
✅ Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily
✅ Prioritize sleep (7–9 hours)
✅ Move your body daily (yoga, walking, stretching)
✅ Practice mindfulness & gratitude
✅ Listen to your body—adjust as needed
