Hi, it is nice to meet you! I am Rose Lewis and I live in Alaska. I blog about my Alaska Adventures! I have had many camping and fishing adventures! I have been camping since I was twenty and now I am a senior I live alone with my toy poodle and cat. I was born and raised in Connecticut and moved to Alaska in the year 1979. I moved to Alaska with my family, and I have two daughters but my husband died early! I have gone camping on the East Coast, Canada, and Alaska. We drove from Connecticut to Alaska and reached the home which we bought in Eagle River. I love to fish and camp my stories in the blog are all about my camping and fishing. All the stories are true some are sad and some are funny and exciting! The story I like is where we were camping in Talkeetna Alaska! Here let me tell you that story!

The Single Mothers Survival Guide Series - A Written Plan
“Many Wisdom traditions tell us to call things that are not as though they are!” As single mothers, what is it we want to accomplish? Own our own business? Write a book? Meet Mr. Right? Spend more time together as a family? Have more outings—or maybe just feel normal again? Since it is easy to stay in a survival mode, most single mothers go into this mode first. Not only that, it is very easy to stay in this mode because just to survive at this point takes a tremendous amount of intelligence and energy. The goal I wanted to attain was to thrive, not just survive. To thrive, after a reasonable amount of time you must first get out of the survival mode. The next step is creating a roadmap, or a (once again) written plan that comes from your vision of what you feel you want or need in order to thrive.

William's shift would begin at six in the morning; with twenty or so of his colleagues having gone to the Fair - an hour into the shift, only 143 Davy lamps had been handed out to the men going underground.

Replaceable Children
Fresh snow began to fall forming a light dusting over the dirt packed snow lining the sides of the road. Sitting beside my older brother, Wayne, I press my forehead against the cold window of the school bus and huffed out hot breath, steaming up the window pane and began drawing circles around the flashing street lights.

Reflections on "A Marriage Story"
The other day, I sat at the dinner table with my kids and did something I rarely do -- I told them about a movie I'd watched three times, called A Marriage Story (directed by Noah Baumbach), about a couple who gets divorced and ends up moving to Los Angeles.

Living The Dream
As I sit this morning at my laptop, my children divided between their respective devices (roll on the new school term), with an episode of Ru Paul playing in the background that I've seen at least five times, I find myself looking around my living room with pride.
