The 50’s as I Remember Them. Top Story - August 2020.
My life began in the mid 50's in Colorado. My mother tells me that it was the hottest day recorded in twenty years on that first day of summer. I don’t think that this information has ever been checked out by Scopes, but nonetheless, it’s her story and it sounded good to me. I am also part of that Baby Booming generation, but neither parent served in the military. My father had been a victim of polio, leaving a leg atrophied, but my mom did have three brothers who served in WWII.

Letters to my Alcoholic Father
Dear dad, I'm currently 5 years old and living with you in a one-bedroom apartment after you and mom got divorced. You walk me to school everyday and we when we go grocery shopping you always buy me a doll. We always walk by a house that has a dog with one green eye and one blue eye, I love him. Our apartment is pretty small, just one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. Sometimes we go out to parties at your friends house where I sleep while you party. These have been your friends since you were my age, they're like my uncles and I know they'd never harm me but I just don't feel like a party is a good environment for a little girl my age and I don't like how you drive after each party, it's like you forgot how to drive in a straight line during the party, so silly. One day you were sleeping after partying a lot and you wouldn't wake up the next day, I was so bored. One of your closest friends and his wife came to get me while you were sleeping and said they were taking me to my mom's house. I couldn't tell you at the moment or say bye cause you were sleeping but I went with mom and I couldn't understand why they took me there, but when I grow up I'll understand.

Kids Grow Their Power Of Imagination With A Green Environment
Recent studies have revealed the benefits of getting exposed to nature, both for kids and adults. The green environment makes their mental health better. Among kids, it fosters their power of imagination and makes them think in different perspectives. Science has revealed that the kids who play outside are smarter, happier, remain more attentive, and less anxious than the ones who indulge in just indoor activities or spend most of their time in front of the television screen. Over the past few years, it has been studies that the natural panic about kids spending too much time indoor has become so extreme that the crisis has been named as "Nature Deficit Disorder". Thus, the researchers concluded that interacting with the green environment is much significant for their cognitive functioning and mood improvement. MISHELLE'S SPECIAL DREAMS
CH.1 HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY There was such a happy atmosphere on Mishelle’s birthday that even the sun seemed to be smiling. The sky was royal blue and there was no breeze to stir the carnations that were growing enchantingly in the grounds of the mansion. Jack and Anne, Mishelle’s parents, had hired a banqueting room within the 15th Century mansion to celebrate their eldest daughter’s 18th birthday. And what day it proved to be!

My Dream Home
I have always been fascinated with historic homes. Old homes with a history, something about them invokes a level of nostalgia. Like I am guilty of some serious rubbernecking when I drive by them, the way some might stare at a train wreck or a celebrity.
