Misfortunate Misdeeds
The faster I run the closer the man in black gets. I run faster, breathing heavily, desperately trying to escape him. I’m trying so hard not to trip as I run and keep an eye on his distance. I look down and at the last moment see a huge piece of metal sticking out of the road. Bam.

The Little Things in Life
LITTLE BLACK BOOK This all started on one early Saturday spring morning, I was riding 4 wheelers with my 9 year old son. Cruising through the woods I hear a faint call “Dad!”, I turned to see my son standing next to his bike with the chain hanging down. I turn around to go back to him, after fixing the chain, he jumped back on the bike and took off. I stood there with my heart in my stomach watching him take off, as I look down I see in the thick of the brush just off the trail, I see this black rectangular looking object. Curiosity got the better of me, so I pushed myself through the brush and sticker bushes to see what had caught my eye. Once reaching this object I had realized it was little leather black book with combination lock on the strap, a picture of what seemed to be a shield and sword on the cover, this book seemed like it was a hundred years old. (How this survived the weather I will never know.) Later that evening I examined the book, worked on the lock, about 2 hours past, the locked finally opened. Inside this book was something that would change my life, I was very skeptical while reading the contents of this though, There was writing on the first page only, the rest of the book was blank. The writing said,

A Mother's Secret
It has been seven long years since I have seen my older brother Marcus and I am not proud of myself for that. It took the passing of our father to bring us back together. Family is so weird that way. We love everyone, but in the sad reality, no one seems to ever make time for each other. I am the youngest of three siblings and I would like to think that I was the most mature because baby, my older brother Marcus is a hot mess. Let me give you a little background on us so you can get a clear picture.

Six minutes, a new life.
His hand was gently placed on the page of his book that he was reading. From what I could see his book seemed tattered, old, perhaps a classic; maybe his interest in literature was timeless. He grinned ever so slightly, amused by a line that he had probably read a thousand times over. His face wasn't made up of obviously beautiful features, but he was beautiful. A nose ring sat tight around his left nostril and a beanie balanced on his head like a beret. His eyes behind a pair of rounded glasses that sat on his perfectly balanced ears; one with a loop earring. 'Am I in love, again?' I thought. I looked down at what I was wearing; nothing exciting to look at. I became uncomfotable and shuffled my bum further away from him, sitting half on the seat and half balancing on nothing but sheer hope of not falling. I turned the volume of my music up and closed my eyes to try and focus.

The Girl and her little black notebook
It starts with a girl and her little black notebook! She sits in the corner and nobody notices her! All the popular girls bully her and bring her down! Her twin walks over and says,” Azula, what’s that?” Azula closes her little black notebook and says,” Nothing, don’t worry about it!” They walk home and live alone! Their parents abandoned them at a young age and they’re barely surviving on their own as Azula takes care of her twin Eve and Eve says,” Zula, I’m hungry!” Azula said,” alright stay here I’ll be back!” Eve said,” okay!” Azula went to the farmer’s market and had to steal a lot of food and put it in her bag for school she brought and there was a man there that was dressed up in a three piece suite and he caught her stealing milk and said,” Girl, why are you stealing all this food?” Azula said,” Sir that’s none of your business, please let me go home!” He said,” I need an explanation for everything you’re stealing or I’ll have to call the cops!” Azula said,” Sir, if you wanna get the cops on me for stealing food and milk for me and my twin sister be my guest! If you have to be nosy in my personal life then here it is, My parents abandoned me and my twin sister when we were ten because they didn’t want us anymore! Now I have to struggle to take care of her and myself so please I need to get back to her and feed her she’s starving!” The man said,” okay I’ll let it slide this once!” Azula turned and walked away and the man saw she dropped her notebook and slipped an envelope inside it and said,” Miss, you dropped your notebook!” Azula ran back and grabbed it and said,” Thanks, please don’t touch this again!” Azula ran back home and said,” Eve, I got food for us for the next two days!” Eve said,” cool sis hehe, what’s that sticking out of your notebook?” Azula saw the envelope and grabbed it and saw $20,000 cash inside and said,” A man stopped me and was talking to me I dropped my notebook maybe he accidentally left this in my notebook?” Eve said,” or it was given to you?” Azula said,” that’s impossible he was gonna call the cops on me!” Eve said,” let’s go find him and ask him!” Azula said,” sure, worth a shot I guess!” Azula and Eve went back and looked for the man and couldn’t find him anywhere and a lady walked up and said,” a man left this for you!” Azula took it and said,” Uh, thanks!” Azula opened it and it read,” Dear Girl, I’m sorry you were abandoned at an early age with your twin! I gave you this money to help you out, spend it wisely! I hope this helps you!” Azula cried and said,” Eve, everything’s gonna be okay! We have twenty thousand dollars! Let’s get a better life for ourselves!” Eve said,” awesome!” They then went and bought a little apartment, food, and clothes and put a couple thousand in a safe and had a better outcome on their lives and Azula kept drawing in her little black notebook she kept to herself! As they continued to go to school and live their lives the man walks up to the school and says,”I need to speak with Azula and Eve!” He call's them to the office and Azula and Eve see the man again and Azula walked up to him and said,” you gave me that envelope!” Eve said,” this is the guy?” Azula said,” yeah!” The man says,” Let me properly introduce myself ladies, Hi I’m Jeremiah, your uncle! Was that enough money for you two?” Azula and Eve were shocked they found family to go to when they need help and that wants to help them and Azula said,” we’re good!” He said,” Azula, here’s a second black notebook since the other ones full!” Azula took it and said,” Thank you, Uh, Eve let’s go we have to get back to class!” Eve went with Azula back to class and they went their separate ways!

The Good Name
John Cody Wallace III Arizona, 1872 He crawled over cool red rocks and into the sun, and suddenly he was in the open and could see for miles. The dust and wind howled around him, and the shades of morning painted the canyons in soft hues of red. "I think I see it," Tom Kelly said on his stomach beside him. He was holding a pair of wood and brass binoculars tightly to his eyes, his floppy hat blowing in the desert wind. "Way out there, just to the left of the horizon," Kelly handed the binoculars over to Wallace.
