Grandparents To Be
We may be at the point of a last grandbaby

Becky is our youngest daughter of seven children, and she was 39 on her last birthday. I have three children and John has four.
We were thinking we were done with grandchildren several years ago, and then our boys had babies and now Becky is having her fifth child. She married last year, and they decided to have a baby.
We will have twenty-eight grandchildren altogether. It is hard to fathom having so many grandchildren when we see eight most of the year who live by us, and we see others around holidays. There are some I haven't seen except on social media for a few years now.
One granddaughter lives in Chicago, and others are not as far away but are still busy with their own lives.
We attended a baby shower that included husbands and children. The theme was the jungle, and we were asked to wear green. It was fun for all and the games were fun to include adults and children. As we left the men were trying out pregnancy with a large balloon under their shirt.
They were asked to bend over and tie their shoes, etc. It was hilarious. There are several reasons why men don't have babies, and it was clear these were just a few of the reasons!

My hubby was under the weather with a cold. He stayed out of most of the festivities and sat in a place where hugs would be difficult to get. He still managed to get jumped on by a granddaughter and did some light slap boxing with a grandson. We left before the party was over but we were there long enough to be counted.
We purchased Huggies, a baby wrap, some swimming suits, and a gift card, and pitched in on a swing. Becky stays in a hotel periodically just for pool access for the kids. The baby will need swimming gear too.
Grandbabies are so precious
Food at baby showers is delicious
Games are fun and funny
especially for my Hunny

He didn't play
but he could sit back and say
"Do you know how crazy you look
you know it is going in the photo book!"

Notice all the young people were up there working this contest. None of the older people tried this one. Then there was the clothespin game, where you don't get caught saying baby or you will lose your clothespin.
And then guessing the number of animal cookies in the jar. I think you had to be present to win or I know I would have won.
There was a couple who sang and a granddaughter and her best friend who provided some entertainment. She has no problem with being shy at all and she is a very talented dancer already at the age of nine.
Then there was a pool tournament for the guys. Hubby would have gotten into that except for his cold. When I asked how long it had been since he played, he said, "It doesn't matter as my folks owned a bar, remember. I can play and I will win."
Now, I'm not sure if the cold was really that bad or if he just didn't want to lose the pool tournament.

Tammy is Becky's older sister and our middle daughter. We were so happy to see Tammy as we hadn't seen her in some time. She looked good and introduced us to her new boyfriend. Her four kids are all grown now with her youngest being nineteen years old.
We are only at 12 great-grandchildren but we don't expect that to be for long. The very best thing about being a parent is grandchildren and great- grandchildren! And who knows it could be great-great-grandchildren!

I like the shoe tying challenge! And Becky looks so gorgeous! I would never guess she's 39.
Hahahahahahhahaha the balloons under their shirts was hilarious!
Congratulations! What a great family story. That baby bottle game looked like fun. I knew a few babies that could probably out do your friends back when.
Congratulations!
