TESLA CYBERTRUCK

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE TESLA CYBERTRUCK

The Tesla Cybertruck has become the focal point of discussion and anticipation in the automotive industry this decade, drawing significant attention due to its bold and unconventional design, impressive performance, and the visionary leadership behind its creation. It stands alone in the automotive landscape, with no direct comparisons to other vehicles. In this review, I will delve into the Cybertruck's distinctive attributes and features. While many may already be acquainted with this vehicle, I will first address its remarkably unconventional design, which is defined by sharp angles and a complete lack of curves. This futuristic and angular aesthetic distinguishes it from all other vehicles on the road, with the only rounded components being the wheels, which are encased in angular wheel arches.

The pronounced angles of the Cybertruck's design are so sharp that they pose a risk of cuts in certain areas. Additionally, the vehicle's construction is primarily composed of unpainted stainless steel, a choice that sets it apart from the painted sheet metal typical of most vehicles. This unique material selection not only changes its visual impact but also influences the aging process of the vehicle. Reports of premature wear on the stainless steel panels have led some early owners to either wrap their trucks in various colors or apply protective coatings to the body. Nevertheless, the overall appearance of the Cybertruck remains strikingly unique.

At first glance, the Cybertruck resembles a singular, imposing silver monolith, featuring a starkly minimalist exterior that lacks any embellishments that could detract from its triangular silhouette. However, a closer examination reveals subtle details integrated into the exterior that soften its monolithic look, though these nuances may only be appreciated by those who take the time to observe them. The most noticeable feature is the rearview mirrors, which are designed with an angular aesthetic.

The vehicle is equipped with a distinctive light bar that extends across the entire rear section, exhibiting an unusual behavior; when the brakes are activated, the light bar turns off, and the standard brake lights illuminate instead. This design is intriguing, as the brightness of the brake lights is diminished when the tail lights are on compared to when the brakes are not engaged. Such an innovative configuration is certainly rare, particularly in a vehicle of this unconventional nature. Furthermore, a subtle camera is strategically placed at the center of the rear, which may easily go unnoticed unless one is actively searching for it. This camera functions as a rearview mirror, a crucial feature given the lack of a traditional rear window.

The Cybertruck's bed is specifically designed to hold larger items, and closing the tonneau cover is a simple task; a button located at the back allows the cover to slide shut with ease, ensuring the bed remains secure. This functionality is quite remarkable. Additionally, a button for the tailgate opener is positioned at the rear of the Cybertruck, which, when pressed, automatically opens the tailgate, facilitating convenient access to the bed that boasts various practical features. Upon examining the bed, one will find a small panel on the left side that, when opened, reveals a collection of outlets, including standard household options.

The Cybertruck's design effectively addresses prevalent issues associated with conventional steering systems, particularly through its innovative steering configuration that enhances the overall driving experience. This vehicle is equipped with both front and rear wheel steering, which significantly improves its maneuverability, a feature increasingly common in contemporary luxury automobiles. In contrast, the interior design diverges from traditional norms, showcasing octagon-shaped cup holders instead of the usual circular ones, which may appear unconventional given the round shape of most cups. The door panels and various surfaces within the cabin are characterized by a series of angles, completely avoiding smooth curves and resulting in a distinctly angular appearance. Even the depiction of a dog within the infotainment system is presented in a pixelated, angular format, adding to the Cybertruck's unique charm. The only circular elements present are the thumb controls on the steering wheel, which are standard circular dials adapted from other Tesla models, as the creation of custom hexagonal controls would likely have incurred excessive costs. Notably, while the steering wheel includes a hexagonal camera icon, the interior lacks the typical Tesla branding, opting instead for a profile image of the truck itself.

The truck incorporates a distinctive plastic panel designed for its sensors, which is already an unusual feature. However, the most striking aspect occurs when the sun visor is lowered to block sunlight from the windshield; rather than simply shielding the sun, it inadvertently exposes more of the windshield. While it does cover a portion, it simultaneously reveals another area, resulting in a rather peculiar situation. Fortunately, an additional sun visor panel can be deployed from the main visor to offer further sun protection if needed. It is also noteworthy that there is a dedicated button for activating the hazard lights, a requirement dictated by regulatory standards that prevent the integration of this function into the vehicle's design.
