Did Gen-Z Laziness Come From Because They Think There's nothing Worth To Pursuit Anymore?

This has been a massive talk especially among the young generations especially " Gen-Z " , they often seems lazy, not finishing their school or college assignment, ditch out or quitting a job with for not even a year or just trying to get enough money to enjoy without planning retirement. Many people see this with being lazy, no planning or even a deadbeat.

Yet if we see the state of the world now, with the war, climate change, new diseases, low pay and inflation, did we have a right to blame the young generations?. In the past even if you only work one job, even if you just a regular staff, you can feed your family, pay your mortgage and have some left to fullfill your hobby or even start a bussiness from scratch. Again, this is for the Western world but even if you are live in Southeast Asia, in the past you pay all of that but plus with travelling across the world, that how easy the generation have back then. If you don't believe me, my parent can buy a house with full cash with my mom work as sales girl for a small company and my dad work construction . For crazy is, my grandparents can buy two house with only my grandpa work as a QC Staff for a mail company.

Now, you understand what im talking about ? back then hard work give you reward and you can live your life to find meaning or happiness for your family but now ?. You must be wandering what's my point for writting this.

This writing is for someone who want to help the young generations, to help that even admist of chaos around the world there's still something worth to pursuit, there's something to have fun to fill that our time in this world is just us waiting for our demise.

GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCES 

This can meaning anything from a job, a lesson, a training, whatever of what you define as a chances. I'm realizing this when i was first enter a career world, job world or even what you called "rat race". I realize that every lesson, every job can be taught and everyone can learn wherever they learn slow or fast but many people are always gatekeeping skill even for the simplest thing. 

I'm working now as Graphic Designer and Digital Marketing for apparel company but would you believe me that my dream job or thing i want to do was to be a bartender and to work at beach bar or even beach club. I was looking for a bartender job day and night. I know, i don't have an experience to be a bartender yet but i was willing to be a bar back or even a dishwasher as long as i get to learn the bartending skill so in the future i can get a bartender job near a beach like i always wanted.

Eventually i find a server job at a restaurant that also have a bar, i encouraged myself and tell my supervisor about my dream and to be a bartender, my supervisor were moved and agreed for me to learn a bartending skill as long as i don't abandoning my server job. He's also telling the head bartender to train me after work so if some case that other bartender quit i will be replacing them and my supervisor even agreed to pay as overtime for my training for the head bar. I was so happy and full of hope but when its come for closing time, the head bar always say he's busy or train some other time. I stayed there for 6 months and begging for the head bar to train me but to no avail, eventually other bartender quit because he has a better job somewhere else, so i was excited and my supervisor even have approval for me to be the bartender, but this head bar just sweep in with a new bartender and would you believe it ? it's he's nephew, who doesn't have even a job experience. For that, i told my supervisor and i quit on the spot. 

After that, i just work anything as long as the money good. Copywriting, Driver, QC for clothes job, Warehouse Staff, until now as Graphic Designer and Digital Marketing and from all of that job, i don't even need a certificate, a seminar or even a class, i just learn everything from my previous on the spot..yet if you ask me on the deeper level, the core of my heart, i'd still want to be a bartender while working near a beach :) .

And that's it, that's the only thing you can help gen z now. With the world that going on a riot, we only want a chance. While the world of politics is Ouroubos, i can say for sure that we don't care much about politics situation or even want to fix it because we don't have the money or the time to do it.

It's only the matter of time that the world we are now will change into a dystopian we always tell on story, the politics we are now is one giant simple problem with a simple solution yet the greed of man will always prevail from every generation especially the one who's seating on the table.

So while we are here and now, let's just enjoy it to the fullest, give what's can be given especially a chance for those who doesn't have it yet.
