Why did Stephen Hawking repeatedly discourage humans from using the eye in the sky and what did he actually discover?

Stephen Hawking has repeatedly discouraged humans from using the eye in the sky

Once upon a time, the moon was far away, but now we can travel to the moon and leave human footprints on it.

Once upon a time, people saw Mars as an ominous omen, but now when they set foot on it, they realise that Mars is a barren planet. A misconception has been created because the topsoil contains a lot of iron, which causes the soil to be reddish.

In ancient times, as technology was very backward, people were often unable to solve these mysteries and could only explain them through the existing body of knowledge, thus becoming mysterious and metaphysical.

With the development of technology, people's technological level is constantly updated and iterated, and people have made deeper breakthroughs in the exploration and research of the universe.

When people took spacecraft into space, through the atmosphere, into the universe, only to find that the Earth is only a tiny planet in the universe, there are countless larger and more vast planets in the universe.

From that moment on, people were filled with endless imagination and curiosity about the universe, and countless scientists began to pursue the mysteries of the universe.

The most famous of these is the 500-metre spherical radio telescope (FAST), the world's largest radio telescope, located in Guizhou province.

By looking at the outline of the Five Hundred Metre Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), we can see that the Five Hundred Metre Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) is like a giant eye on Earth, constantly gazing at the universe, hoping to get something out of it.

Of course, relying on current technology, the eye system can indeed obtain some important signals from the universe and can also help people to better explore the mysteries of the universe.

Just when everyone thought that the Five Hundred Metre Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) would be good for human progress, Stephen Hawking raised his objections. He even went so far as to say that he would try not to use the Five Hundred Metre Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), so what exactly was he afraid of or worried about?

First of all, what is the eye for?

The eye is mainly used to monitor various electromagnetic waves in the universe and decipher the signals that humans can receive or read by separating, analysing and converting them.

By analysing the collected electromagnetic wave signals, it is possible to continuously restore the location of the electromagnetic wave emission, or some recorded information, etc.

Currently, the Five Hundred Metre Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) is mainly used to search for pulsars, which emit pulsed signals steadily and can receive very short signals with the sensitivity of the Five Hundred Metre Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST).

And the problem does not arise here, because in Hawking's eyes if we receive cosmic signals blindly and frequently, we are likely to reveal the location of the Earth.

For some technologically advanced alien civilisations, once they have the exact location of the Earth, they are likely to launch an attack on the planet. Even if the Earth falls, human civilisation may perish.

In the vastness of the universe, humans are specks of dust. Although we have now mastered a certain level of technology and are technologically advanced enough to walk out of the Earth, human civilisation seems very small to the vast cosmic civilisation. With the current level of technology, we will be powerless to resist once we encounter a high-tech alien civilisation.

The Law of the Dark Forest is also proposed in Liu's novel Three Bodies, which coincides with Hawking's remarks.

In Hawking's eyes, we should learn to hide. As Liu's Law of Darkness says, we must survive in this dark forest. Therefore, there is no absolute power and we must learn to hide. Once we are the ones who shoot first, we will expose ourselves and fall into hell.

Indeed, we can understand Hawking's concern, but is this concern a bit ahead of its time or redundant? This is still something we need to keep researching to finally answer.

Humans have been searching for extraterrestrial civilisations for years. Although they have come up empty-handed, there is still a lot of useful information, such as the appearance of unidentified flying objects similar to those on Earth, which are believed to be the high-tech means of an alien civilisation. Whether the details are true or not is something we still need to verify. What do you think about this?

Sadly we already away Earth's location, they are here, they live amongst us, they rule, they know....others we come soon..

Hawking was correct. Even worse, we are also sending signals out in the hope some civilization will pick up the phone and answer back. Why would we do that? Are the folks at SETI and others just assuming that an advanced civilization will be friendly? It's beyond foolish but that's what we humans do. We just forge ahead with our technology without thinking it through. The same thing is true for quickly advancing AI. It will only be a matter of time before we destroy ourselves...one way or another.
