Where was God when He created heaven and earth?
The revelation of the secret of creation.

When the Bible claims that God created the earth and the heavens, many people are frequently perplexed. When God created them, they wondered where He was. Many people have asked this question, but the Bible doesn't specifically address God's location at that time. I hope to address that query and provide an explanation of the creation process in this piece.
Before we can understand creation, we must first understand who God is and what makes Him different from humans and all other created things. God is a supernatural being, and the human mind struggles to comprehend Him. However, since He is the Spirit, we can know and communicate with Him through the spirit. God and His creation are completely different. Everything we see and hear is part of creation; God is not creation, He is the Creator. As a result, creation struggles to comprehend the Creator completely. Yet, God has revealed Himself through His creation, especially through humans, whom He made in His image.
Now to our question: Where was God when He created the heavens and the earth?
God existed in eternity, within the eternal Trinity. Eternity is not a physical place that can be known or measured, because even the beings in heaven cannot live in that realm. Eternity is where there is no beginning and no end. Everything that exists has a beginning, but the Eternal Trinity existed before all things. God Himself is eternal. That is why He saw it was good to create heaven, a place for His throne, where heavenly beings would constantly worship Him and witness His greatness.
Heaven has a beginning, but it will never end. There are, however, many heavens. There are heavenly realms known as spiritual places, where the kingdom of darkness operates, where evil spirits and those who serve darkness gather. But that is a topic for another day. There is also the heaven from which rain comes. These heavens are physical and will eventually pass away. Yet the heaven where angels dwell will never come to an end.
God saw that it was good for heaven to exist with all its creatures. Among these beings was one who specialized in worship, so close to the throne of God, but pride entered its heart. This being thought of itself as equal to God, and that is when the problem began. (This, too, is a topic for another day.) When God saw the rebellion and the destruction caused by that creature, He decided to create the earth and form another being to serve Him in the place of the one who was cast out. So God created man and placed him on earth to live for a certain time.
The earth is a place that has a beginning and an end. The timing of the end is known only to God. God gave man authority over all the powers of the earth. Satan has no power over man, but he uses man’s own power and free will to achieve his evil purposes. When God created man, He gave him the freedom of choice to do whatever he desires. Satan takes advantage of this freedom, using lies and deception to influence man to misuse his power.
There is much more that could be said about creation, but the most important point is this: God created heaven and earth separately for His divine purpose. Nothing in creation could remain in His direct presence, so He created distinct spaces for them to live. Heaven is higher and closer to Him, while the earth is lower, a place where God gave man authority to rule over all created things and manage them. In heaven, no creature has been given authority as man has been given on earth. God loves man deeply; He placed him in a position of power, with the freedom to act according to his will.
Of all God’s creations, none is loved more than humanity. That is why man was made in God’s image and given dominion over the earth. However, man’s time on earth is limited, for he must one day return to God, his Creator, to live eternally. Yet, man could not live in eternity directly, so God made the earth as a temporary dwelling place. Likewise, angels also cannot live in eternity itself; that realm belongs only to God. As a result, God made heaven so that angels could live there forever. The other heavens, those inhabited by the devil and his adherents, will eventually come to an end.
I hope this article has answered your question about creation and helped you understand where God was when He created heaven and earth. In my next articles, I will explain more about the other topics I mentioned, for they are subjects for another day.
