What comes to your mind first when you hear 'Malaysia'? Twin Towers? The ever-congested KL? The epic street food scene? If you are reminded of at least one of those things, the fact that Malaysia is a country that has a lot of artificial marvels will also come to mind. But, NO! Malaysia is not just about man-made attractions. It's so much more that connects its visitors with Mother Nature.

Do you think it's just about beaches, mountains, waterfalls and hiking trails? Well, there are a lot more!

Bako National Park

So, if you plan to travel to the Sarawak area, this is one of the must-visit places. Bako National Park is considered the oldest national park in Sarawak, and it's home to many rare animal species, including the Bornean Bearded Pig. To explore the park fully, you will have to spend around 5-6 hours, and the national park is open for visitors throughout the week.

Guess what...? You can also spot the Proboscis Monkey here at this national park!

Seven Wells Waterfall

Locals call it 'Telaga Tujuh'. You don't need to buy tickets to experience the beauty of this waterfall as it's completely free. It's called the Seven Wells Waterfall because you find 7 amazing pools at the top of the waterfall. Well, to reach the top, you need to climb 638 steps, but the vistas you get to enjoy when you are at the top make you forget all your exhaustion and worries.

The best thing about these 7 pools? They are shallow and offer a very relaxing experience. Visit this place early in the morning if you don't want the crowds to disturb your relaxing views.

Desaru Beach

If you plan your vacation at Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, here is how you connect with nature in the best way possible. One of the best things to do in Desaru is exploring the Desaru Beach. If you are someone who chases the sun, sand and sea, you find the best on Desaru Beach, and it's also a paradise destination for those who love to try out beach adventures. Jet skiing and parasailing are so common here, and if you are on a family vacation, you may try out banana boat rides leisurely.

You may also explore the Desaru Fruit Farm and the Ostrich Farm located very close to the Beach.

Batu Caves

Located in Selangor, Malaysia, Batu Caves is an infamous attraction loved by travellers from all around the world. It's a limestone hill in which you find a good number of caves, and you find the most amazing statue of Lord Murugan here. Due to this statue, Batu Caves has become an attraction that the Hindus call their own, and since it's located closer to KL (the capital city), the accessibility is also great for everyone.

If you want to avoid the crowds, make sure you choose a morning time for your exploration.

Penang National Park

If you are someone who never feds up exploring the wildlife, here is another great option for you. Penang National Park is considered a paradise for wildlife explorers as they can spot eagles, lizards and monkies in plenty here. In addition to a good number of native species, explorers can also spot non-native species depending on the period of your tour (especially birds).

If you get to visit the Penang National Park, you automatically get the chance to explore Monkey Beach, Teluk Kampi Beach and Pantai Keracut (However you will have to check the swimming conditions before you choose to swim, because some of these beaches have jellyfish- which can be dangerous)
