The Ocean

The blue and green of the ocean was the color of Sapphires mixed with Emeralds. It looked as if beautiful jewels were sparkling in the water. The colors were so intoxicating that I dreamed of being a mermaid and living in the depths, swimming and living in the under water realm. I felt the wind whispering to me and the ocean seemed to be calling to me, come to me, come to me, you are mine.

I sat down and picked up handfuls of the sugar white sand off the beach and let it slide through my fingers. I picked up a gorgeous green round soft rock and rubbed it like a crystal and began to manifest my dreams. I felt so happy, noticing that I was the only person on the beach for miles. Is this what it feels like to be on another planet I wondered; an ocean planet where the only other beings would be underneath the water.

I am sitting silently watching the sun rise slowly in the sky. It was like an orb of gold just hanging there in the azure sky. The warmth soaked into my skin and made me feel so comforted and I wanted to just stay and stretch out on the sand like a sea creature

The seagulls were calling to me, surfing the windtorn coast, they seemed to saying "We love this, we love this, we are having so much fun surfing and enjoying this fresh air." The birds were diving and climbing in the bright blue sky, like a moving picture. Their happiness was contagious, it was as if they were entertaining me, they were in the sky for me and wanted me to love them and appreciate their antics. I did and smiled as I watched the birds and listened to their screams of joy. They seemed to be calling me, "Come with us, come with us to the sea."

I felt so relaxed looking out at the immense space of nature with seemingly no end to the beauty of the natural surroundings. It felt finally like I could breathe, I took in sweet long breaths of the salty ocean air and the sun felt so good on my skin. The sun felt so warm, so warm, like golden happiness streaming through the air. I kept repeating to myself Breathe, just breathe. I took deep breaths and whispered to myself, I want to stay here forever, I want to smell the ocean, I want to breathe in the fresh air. I want to stay.

I slowly walked into the warm water and felt the sand beneath my feet and swam out into the vast expanse of turquoise. The water felt so warm and inviting, it felt like I was home, finally home. I could taste the salt of the water on my lips. It tasted like home. I kept swimming and dreaming of becoming an ocean creature so I could stay in this quiet, stay in this blue, stay in this calm.

As if in answer to my prayers, I began to change somehow, I felt softer, happier, I felt like I was evolving into a creature of the deep. I became a mermaid, I swam underwater and could breathe through my shiny gills. My tail became a green glittery thing and I could see underwater, I could see the colorful corals and the shimmering fish darting in and out of the flowing plants. Thank you, thank you I whispered to the divine universe, I can stay and now and I am finally home.
