Handel Rose

Composers

Composer George Frederic Handel has a lovely rose named after him It is a climber rose that grows to almost 8 feet. The blooms are lovely and fragrant in pink and it produces larger blooms that are semi-double. Mildly fragrant the flowers bloom repeatedly from late spring to early summer.

Amadeus

A lovely red rose the Amadeus was named after the Austrian composer Mozart. It is a fragrant climbing hybrid tea rose that was developed in 2003 and since then has won three awards.

Chopin

Frederic Chopin is well-known for his Polish dances, mazurkas and polonaises. If you have beautiful Frederic Chopin light yellow double hybrid roses in your garden you can polonaise around delighting in their fragrance.

Puccini

Giacomo Puccini is known for his operas that have been performed in opera houses all over the world. He also has fragrant pink and white blooms named after him in lovely hybrid musk roses. These blooms flourish from late spring to mid-autumn.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is a popular Russian composer who delighted the world with his ballet scores. In his honor was named an elegant shrub rose with outer petals shaded in a subtle orange. Like his compositions, these roses will delight you.

Even former Beatle and a talent himself Paul McCartney as an award-winning hybrid rose named after him, The fragrant rose has deep pink double blooms and a wonderful fragrance. The rose was bred in honor of McCartney's 50th birthday.

Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury from Queen was a talented songwriter and singer who passed on much too soon. In his memory, The Freddie Mercury Fan Club raised money to create a rose in his honor. The lovely and fragrant rose bursts forth in pink, yellow, and apricot.

Dolly Parton

Lovely country singer Dolly Parton has been honored with a beautiful orange-red hybrid tea rose making its debut in 1984. These lovely blooms can be seen at her home and at her theme park Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Lynn Andersen

Another American country singer Lynn Anderson sang a popular song "Rose Garden.' Even though in the song she says she never promised a rose garden she has been honored with a cultivated hybrid tea rose that made its debut in 1995. The lovely blooms are all pink and white and fragrant.

Popular writer Mark Twain known for his delightful stories about Huckleberry Finn and Tom Swayer has had a rose named in his honor. The lovely pink blooms were bred in Switzerland and are durable and sweetly-scented.

Beautiful blonde actress Marilyn Monroe has been immortalized in a soft, creamy apricot hybrid rose. It is lightly scented and as lovely as the actress it was named after.

Ingrid Bergman

Beautiful Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman was honored with lovely and fragrant bright red roses that bloom from late spring to autumn. The rose was the creation of a Danish rose company and have won many awards. In 2000 it was named the World Favorite Rose by the World Federation of Rose Societies and inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Elizabeth Taylor

The beautiful and glittering British American actress Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor has also been honored with a lovely, fragrant and showy rose in hot pink.

Audrey Hepburn

An actress known for her beauty and elegance Audrey Hepburn has a lovely hybrid tea rose in light pink named after her. It has a light, fruity scent and repeatedly blooms from season to season.

Barbara Streisand

Actress and singer Barbara Streisand has had a rose created for her with fragrant lavender blooms and a strong citrus-like fragrance. The rose is registered as a mauve blend.

Lovely actress Doris Day has a rose named for her with yellow-colored blooms. The roses have a fruity and sweet spicy aroma and bloom in beautiful rounded clusters.

Wonderful actress and comedienne Betty White portrayed a woman named Rose in the popular TV series "The Golden Girls." So it is right that she has had a lovely hybrid tea rose in fragrant pink and white blooms named for her.

Princess De Monaco has been honored with the Grace Kelly rose given the name of the former actress. A beautiful hybrid tea rose in pink the fragrant blooms grow mid-spring to mid-summer and into mid-autumn.

Famous Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci has a pink rose with a large cluster of blooms named after him. The rose has a mild tea scent and looks just like a work of art.

Michelangelo

Another Italian artist Michelangelo was also a well-known sculptor. The rose named in his honor has lovely golden petals and a sweet lemony fragrance.

French artist Claude Monet has a beautiful hybrid tea shrub rose named in his honor that grows to 3 feet. The rose has large fragrant yellow and pink blooms that blossom from spring through the first frost in autumn.
