Rare white fox appears in Hangzhou neighborhood street

In recent years, many wild animals have come to human settlements either because the environment has improved or because they are hungry and begging for food from humans.

Recently, a rare white fox with snow-white fur and a long, pointed beak was seen in Hangzhou. They thought it was a Samoyed from a distance, but on closer inspection, they found it was very different from a Samoyed and called the police. After repeated confirmation, it was finally judged to be a white fox.

It is well known that wild animals are generally fearful of humans and will be wary of them. But this white fox, on the other hand, acted very close to the staff when they approached the white fox. When feeding, the white fox would also show the cute pampering of a puppy.

The Forestry Bureau was then contacted and it was finally confirmed that this was not a wild animal, but someone who was keeping it.

The white fox is a rare species of fox, mainly the albino or arctic fox. Mainly found in China are red foxes, which generally live in the Arctic and are difficult to see elsewhere, let alone on the streets. However, the red fox is more common, and some people specialise in breeding white foxes and processing products from their pelts, which has become a production chain.

In relatively backward times, animal pelts were very good for warm clothing, especially in primitive times. When there were no clothes, they hunted animals and stripped their skins to keep them warm. Especially in cold places, such animal skins were needed in winter, otherwise they could not survive.

In today's society, it is still common to make clothes from the skins of animals, and the white fox is one of them. People domesticate the red fox to produce different colours of fur and then make clothes in different colours.

However, as time progresses, people's ideas are also developing and updating. The so-called mink coats are no longer popular nowadays. People have become more aware of the idea of protecting animals and even resist this kind of behaviour which relies on harming animals for profit. So in the current context, many businesses are having a hard time. The cost of farms is increasing day by day and sales are being hampered. In this situation, many white foxes are being released into the wild to reduce costs.

The release of white foxes into the wild in captivity is a very bad decision, as they end up in one place, and that is death.

The reason for this is also very simple. White foxes in captivity have lost their ability to survive in the wild. Once released back into the wild, they will neither hunt nor know how to survive. They will keep waiting for humans to feed them and eventually starve to death or die among weaker opponents.

In addition, foxes in captivity no longer have superior genes, and good genes like those of wild foxes are slowly deteriorating. Once they are allowed to breed and survive in the wild, they will inherit bad genes, which is a very bad thing for the entire fox population.

In addition to this, some people love the face of the white fox and purposely buy captive-bred white foxes as pets. However, they think they are special, but they do not know that foxes secrete a foul odour, or fox odour when they become adults.

And even after being domesticated in captivity, foxes still retain their wild nature, mainly because of the short period of domestication. Unlike animals such as chickens, ducks and cows, which have been domesticated by humans for a long time and have lost most of their wild genes, the white fox has not. Once its boundaries are touched, it is likely to become unscrupulous and hurt people.

Releasing foxes into the wild is irrational and inappropriate, and will not only pose a threat to human society but will also affect the ecological environment. For example, in Ruzhou, Henan Province, a lake was drained for three days just to catch the Yangtze crocodile eel, which is an exotic species and a great threat to local fish, and the lake has no natural predators. In the long run, all the fish in the lake will be eaten by it.

As you can see, it is unscientific and can have serious repercussions if the animal is released. It is also important to understand that if you don't like it, don't keep it. There is a saying: "If you can't be kind, don't keep it". What do you think about this?
