I miss the cool breeze in the morning. The sun that always finds its way into my eyes left warm kisses upon my cheeks. It felt magical, the brief everlasting hour before the heat from the sun made everything unbearable. These were the mornings of undeniable bliss for me. It was quiet. The birds chirped in the distance, there were chickens even further out giving out their second alarm of the morning, and the occasional car passing by, but other than those instances it was just me.

Return of the Thunder Lizard
Up until the 1870s, there were about 9 specimens of dinosaurs found in North America. They were not classified very well, and some were mixed bones with another dinosaurs. It was a mess! The first man to discover a full dinosaur skeleton was a man named Foulke who was working for a man named Edward Cope. They were working on a dig in some Marl pits in New Jersey and came across a complete Hadrosaurus. Also working for Cope were two men who were taking fossils from the site and selling to a rival from New York, Charles Marsh of Yale’s Peabody Natural History Museum. The problem was that Marsh hardly ever paid on time and he was miserly when it came to sharing information. This was the beginning of Paleontology in the United States and the start of the great Bone Wars!

The bears of Transylvania
As the train gained speed out of the station, the architecture transformed from ancient stone walls with russet clay tiles on steep gabled rooflines to what her Austrian friend coined as brutalistic socialist architecture: Dull grey cement apartment buildings, not high enough to be called skyscrapers, but loomingly overbearing, small glass windows, rounded edges and deep overhangs at the entryways that prevent the light from getting in. The damp cold stained the structures so it looked like the buildings were weeping. The train continued to build speed and departed from the city in haste. She was on her way to Brasov, Romania in the Region of Transylvania ringed by The Carpthian Mountains.
