Nature and all of its mysteries
I miss the cool breeze in the morning. The sun that always finds its way into my eyes left warm kisses upon my cheeks. It felt magical, the brief everlasting hour before the heat from the sun made everything unbearable. These were the mornings of undeniable bliss for me. It was quiet. The birds chirped in the distance, there were chickens even further out giving out their second alarm of the morning, and the occasional car passing by, but other than those instances it was just me.

When you're stuck like glue
I begrudgingly drank from a stained glass mug. The contents were supposed to be closer to juice but came out thick and lacked viscousness. The color was also a dulled smoggy brown. The taste seemed muted, with hints of dusty blandness. Laughter erupted in waves in the shanty tavern my cohort and I have settled in. The floors creaked under the slightest pressure of the people’s heels. Once their toes slammed down on the dusty boards plumes of sandy dust billowed up. I had to keep moving locks of my dirty blonde hair out of my face. Barely even a word had left my lips since we arrived, meanwhile you hadn’t stopped talking since you entered.

One night...
One minute I’m one of many in a crowd of people. Swaying back and forth in the calming rhythm of breath. My eyes felt heavy, apathetic to whatever my brain had slowly drowned out. A man was speaking into a microphone which helped propel his loud booming voice even further into the room. I very might fall asleep standing where I stood, tucked in from the warmth of the crowd, and the heavy murmur from the crowd followed by the booming mumbles from the speakers could quiet any racing minds.

A millennia and one
It was several millennia back when the world opened their eyes to the possibilities beyond reasoning. They saw colors never before seen, they heard sounds that have never been heard before, and even felt new emotions that were thought to never be possible. With the previous shroud of ignorance removed from our eyes, a new looming bleak existence creeped over our heads.
