Evening Transition: Starting October 9th, the comet will move to the evening sky, glowing as bright as magnitude –4.5 by October 12th, possibly outshining Venus!

Closest Approach: On October 12th, the comet will be closest to Earth, a mere 70.5 million kilometers away!

- October 15th: Comet passes 1.1° south of globular cluster M5.

💫 How to Spot It:

Look out for the comet’s magnificent dust tail, gas tail, and mysterious anti-tail, which may become most prominent as Earth crosses its orbital plane on October 14th.

Whether in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, you’ll have a chance to catch this sight, but the Northern Hemisphere has a slightly better view thanks to its track north.
