Accra Ghana 2nd most expensive city in the world, 5th unbreathable air & 7th most polluted City in the World
Ghana is filthy period with the exception of the Volta Region as Ewe's take pride in keeping their area clean

Accra Ghana, is by far one of the filthiest cities I've ever lived in, I've called Nairobi, Kenya my home. Where I lived in the overcrowded Nairobi West Area right across the street from T-Mall. To growing up in the various areas of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Never had I endured such filth in all my life, from loud noise on the street, to street harassment for being born lighter in skin color. Despite being a Black non-mixed race American.
The streets of Accra are likened to a hell on earth in many areas.
Ghanians will burn anything and everything, including harmful plastic water bottles and the plastic satchel bag which they drink cheap water from.
There is a home made brew that they pour into a black, plastic bag, drinking it threw a straw. (They call bags rubbers)
Most Ghanians think nothing, absolutely nothing of throwing their trash onto the streets of Accra. This is pretty common in most areas of Ghana, as I've traveled extensively around the country.
With the one exception of Ghana's Volta Region, one of the cleanest areas of the country. Possibly one of the cleanest areas in Africa. As the Ewe tribe takes pride in their streets and ancestral home land.

Ghana which this author has given 2 such names, "It is what it is" and the country of "polite lawlessness!" As some Ghanians will apologize for things they haven't done, while others will never render an apology.
Laws are created yet rarely enforced, laws such as polygamy, romance schemes, child abuse, immigration scams, police/military brutality and skin bleaching products.
Living in Ghana skin bleaching products can still be purchased in many shops in the country as recently as 2022. The harmful practice of bleaching is widely used in Ghana, as colorism remains a huge, ignored issue within the country. Along with racism and xenophobia.
The Ghana government seems to have zero concern for the lives of it's citizens. Whom blindly applaud their country as the best in Africa. Despite Accra housing being so unaffordable for the average Ghanian citizen, (Accra 2nd most expensive country in the world according to citizens income) as well as having one of the lowest daily minimum wages ever.
In November 2021 Accra was named 3rd most polluted city in Africa, Which consists of 56 countries. Without heeding this title Ghana's government under Akufo-Addo has done nothing during his 2 terms in office to clean up Accra.
In early 2023 Ghanians were cautioned to start wearing their face-masks again just while traveling around the city of Accra. After their EPA warned of how harmful the air quality had become in their capital city. Like much of the news these warnings went ignored as well.
To top this warning Ghana is tagged with the worst noise pollution as well. Which is a direct affect on the mental health of Ghanians, some who fear complaining because they will be verbally abused as not being good Christians. This is because most of the noise comes from churches and street preachers, who set up shop on random street corners.
Ghana is also lacking in development, which is one of the reasons the government continues to look for investors to build it's own country. Which leads to more xenophobia, higher costs of living for the Ghanian citizens who sometimes face discrimination from the non-Black investment groups.
The lack of development in Ghana has led to millions crying out about the dust pollution. With less than 30% of their roads paved, with Ghana is not in rainy season the dry roads create a lot of dust.
In rainy season the unpaved roads become impassable and flooded. The poor drainage systems are to blame, as well as Ghanians using the street gutter to throw trash, plastic waste and defecate in them. Ghanians have been warned about taking sh*t in the oceans and waterways in the country as well.

The smell while standing over this water was sickening, as my associate refused to come near the area. He stayed in the car while complaining of the utter smell of the entire area, which is not far from Accra's tourist attractions.

Accra named 7th most polluted city in the World
According to the ranking, Accra comes below Dakan, the capital of Bangladesh, which placed sixth, and above Noida in India, which placed eighth.
Napal’s Kathmandu came first in the ranking, with Helsinki in Finland coming in as the least populated city in the world.
However, it is unclear what metrics the World of Statistics used to arrive at these rankings.
Below is how the countries were ranked from the first to the tenth around the world:
1. Kathmandu
2. Tetovo
3. Faridabad
4. Ulaanbaatar
5. Beirut
6. Dhaka
7. Accra
8. Noida
9. Ho Chi Minh City
10. Ghaziabad

Sadly small towns in Ghana such as Tumu have plastic waste thrown to the ground. Not as much as one would encounter in the large capital city of Accra. Clearly Ghana couldn't care less about setting up a waste facility management facility within the country.
