The House

old house (pexels.com)

That old house just sitting out there on the great plains falling away. I wonder what the previous owners of that house are thinking now, as the house that was built by one family and lived in by many others. I bet they can hear all the voices that have come and gone as the wind blows. The sun always rose on this house even though there was plenty of happiness there was also many sad events that took place in the old house on the great plains then. Memories come and go just as the families came and went.

Wondering about that dilapidated, old house on the plains is a lot like purchasing an old item - maybe an etched, crystal antique wine goblet - and wondering who drank out of it once upon a time or what emotions coursed through them at the time. I often contemplate these things, too, in relation to old items.
