Introduction

The black and white one is Mrs "P"; we don't have a name for the other one, but they both come by often expecting treats, which they get and eat, although sometimes there are other benefactors of our generosity.

I don't know when this started, but now it is not going to stop. I don't know if Mrs "P" tapped on the window, or just sat and glared until I gave it treats.

I used to give cats on my walks treats, including this one whose name is actually Tom, but he has now moved, so I don't see him more.

Now it is two, three, four times a day sometimes that we have visits from Mrs "P" and the other one.

The really strange thing is that these two cats will countenance no play or touching from me. As soon as I approach, they are away, but then still expect their cat treats.

Mrs "P" often turns up at 5 am and 9 pm, but the tabby has, so far, confined visits to the afternoon.

People often think I have cats, but I am too selfish for pets, although I am happy to give them treats, so maybe they know what an evil man I am, but then just choose to manipulate me with their visits.

Often they will come, demand treats, not touch them and then traipse off, as if to say "Look what I made you do, you silly human".

Very often it rains, and the treats get wet, so I throw them under the bird feeders, but the suspicious tabby seemed to be ok with snaffling the thrown away treats.

having said that, the birds are not averse to helping themselves to the cat treats.

Conclusion

While this should be in Pets, I cannot stretch this to six hundred words, but it is a critique of how these cats are with me. They expect everything and give nothing.

maybe one day they will allow me to stroke them, but until then, it is demanding treats, which they may or may not partake of, and then they wander off, maybe to someone else who they treat in exactly the same way.
