Joe Budden Calls Diddy’s Sons’ Docuseries A “Horrible Idea”
Justin and Christian Combs' new Zeus docuseries is in the works, and it's already sparked plenty of controversy.

The documentary on Zeus is slated to come out mid to late 2026. In a twist, the sons of Sean “Diddy” Combs Justin and Christian expect to show another side of their father.
In response to the Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the brothers seek to bring a slice of life from what they have experienced as their father’s sons.
If a time came for this particular doc to be released, this is not it according to Internet broadcast legend Joe Budden.
He’s not even knocking them personally but on a professional note, Budden found their intentions to be not so pure.

While it’s open to say the brothers take on a gargantuan work in Reckoning, they still are forcing their way through to get this work on one of the streamers.
What makes the idea so prescient is that they’re trying to reestablish and restore their father’s tattered, shredded character and reputation.
It’s irreparable. Diddy could cure Parkinon’s and Alzheimer’s and the world would still ask “was baby oil involved?”
The brothers, nevertheless, seem to be going ahead with this whole plan. They are not counting out their Dad. This appears to be a noble act despite its inevitable struggle to sway anyone who has been following this story for the past months, even years.
For Christian and Justin to bring to light some of the better aspects of Combs is honorable. At the same time, Joe Budden has a point. He views then as misguided and not ready for the backlash they will receive from this.
It is time to show how Diddy wants to express his side of the story. But by his sons, that’s out of the question. They’re obviously going to be subjective and emotional. If they put out a narrative that says anything good about him, they’ll be heckled considerably. If they talk about his negative side people will just shrug and sigh and mention, “no kidding!”
The power of images and audio that brought down the music mogul and ironically didn’t get him sent to prison will only serve as fodder for the documentary. They would have to include this as they have a conversation with Diddy over the phone in prison. Eventually, they’re going to have to address the reality of their father’s waywardness.

By avoiding the sensational aspects of the case, they might want to proceed with caution. It’s a rough road to go when speaking about their father, for sure. But the reality of the machine that wants to churn anything that can make a coin is what is understood by all parties.
50 remarked that he wanted to see this docuseries, with every bit of his words dripping by with sarcasm.
To tell their version of the story would most likely be a mistake. Of all the subjects they could have covered, their father’s many transgressions, convictions, alleged or actual, they could have simply chosen an educator, astronaut, inventor, or mathematician.
This is not merely telling them to pick different subjects but to suggest the whole narrative is pockmarked like a Humvee hit by shrapnel.
What the reality of this conjures up in the mind is the truth about two concerned sons who love their father. That’s what Budden’s arguing. It’s not a good idea to counter Fifty’s doc with the idea of being apologists for Diddy.
It’s so powerful for men of color to be behind the camera, however, they could be working on ensuring that their dad is protected behind bars.
They could even shoot a docuseries that shows the treatment of inmates in prisons around the country and world.
This is the attitude they should take in order to be consistent and objective. During their arduous journey having to take all the flack for their father’s actions, they should have realized they might have become more credible as documentarians and better sons for not releasing such material.
