This is the story of quite a man by the name of Norman Borlaug. Peggy Thomas and Sam Kalda have created a children's picture/biography book entitled 'Hero for the Hungry The Life and Work of Norman Borlaug'. Norman is a creator, teacher and leader in agriculture who also is a person who did not give up in anything that he does including raising a family.

Peggy wrote a good show and tell story that describes Norman and all who surround him in his life and projects. There were many sidebars written in the book that can be used by teachers from elementary actually through college. This is a chapter book that can be used across the curriculum in all subject areas. Peggy and Sam show the readers that science with Norman's help is important to show how things grow and how science can help society improve communications in learning new ways in many areas.
