Pat Conroy has written a family novel entitled 'Beach Music'. This is the story of a man named Jack McCall the first-born son of Lucy McCall Pitts. He has four other brothers all with their own quirks to live with and deal with their mother's illness. Jack at the start of the story is living in Rome with his young daughter Leah and he has noticed that he has had a follower. 'Beach Music' will cover the decades through various stories told by his friends from the sixties about his and his friends' activities, as well as stories from his friends' parents from the Depression to the World War to Vietman. It is also a story of nature and how to deal with climate change. 'Beach Music' is a novel that will have you laugh and cry sometimes at the same time.

Pat Conroy is an amazing writer. I loved "The Lords of Discipline" he wrote, loosely based on his years at the Citadel Military College in Charleston, SC. From everything I ever heard from those who attended the school in the 60's and even the 70's, much of what he wrote is spot on.
