A Letter to misinformation

The issue is urgent, and we need action

By Viviane BazPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I am an anonymous writer in society, a futurist who sees the world with attentive eyes, always seeking to build and reflect on human evolution. My criticism does not emerge as an attack but as an invitation to deep dialogue and an incessant search for learning and growth. I live with the eternal hope that humanity can develop in its fullness, and this constant faith drives me to critically observe everything around me, especially the major processes that shape humanity.

When I analyze works that address essential themes such as technological revolution, global politics, terror, truth, and the meaning of life, all of which are indeed shaping the 21st century, I find that it is on the issue of "disinformation" where my most profound criticism arises.

I observe that the concept of disinformation, as widely disseminated by some influential voices, can be a strategic trap. Often, the label of disinformation is applied to distort inconvenient or complex truths, revealing a subtle but powerful movement to manipulate public discourse. Authorities may strategically discredit alternative or challenging views under the pretext of protecting the truth. To me, this approach risks stifling genuine and critical debate, which is fundamental to humanity’s development and ongoing learning.

My critical view does not disregard the importance of the fight against lies and distorted information but rather highlights the need for a more refined perspective on the dynamics between power, narrative, and truth. As I observe the constant evolution of human thought and spirit, I see that limiting debate through labels like "disinformation" poses a serious risk to the true pursuit of knowledge.

Even though I am an eternal learner, someone who seeks to understand not only what is being said in the world but also the interests and forces that may shape narratives or concrete truths.

It is necessary to remain vigilant against attempts to control people through labels, and the full freedom of thought is essential. Out of respect for all classes, peoples, authorities, and nations with their individual beliefs and customs, in this article, I invite.
